Simplified Alternative for App Founders Who Will Not Open an Editor

Simplified is a design, AI writing, video and scheduling suite that you operate. Spreadcast is the Simplified alternative for app founders: it designs each post from your App Store listing and publishes it for you, with no editor and no brief.

Free to start · No credit card · No manual posting

The Short Answer on Simplified vs Spreadcast

Simplified is a marketing suite. One subscription covers a graphic editor, an AI writer, AI video tools, a social calendar, an inbox and, more recently, AI agents you brief in plain language. Its own pricing page pitches it as a single app that replaces a design tool, a writing assistant, a video editor, a scheduler and a link in bio service.

Spreadcast does the work for you. An app founder pastes an App Store link, and Spreadcast designs a post for every app update, 5 star review and rating milestone, writes a caption for each network and publishes it on up to 8 networks. Pro is $29 a month flat, the same monthly price as Simplified Pro, and it includes the finished posts.

So the choice is mostly about who you are. A developer who would rather keep shipping than learn another editor gets more from Spreadcast. A marketer, freelancer or agency producing blog posts, ads, videos and social content for several brands gets more from Simplified. The rest of this page gives the details so you can check that for yourself.

What Simplified Does Well

Facts in this section come from Simplified's own pages and help center, opened on October 12, 2026.

  • One Login for Design, Copy and Video

Every plan includes the design, video, writing and scheduling tools, and the pricing page says you can use them with or without briefing an agent. If you already pay for three or four separate tools, that consolidation is real money.

  • AI Video From a Prompt

Simplified's AI video generator accepts a text prompt, a blog URL, a script, an image or an existing clip. Plans also list subtitles and a tool that cuts long videos into short clips.

  • Many Publishing Destinations

The social media page lists 12: Facebook Pages, Instagram business and personal profiles, LinkedIn pages and profiles, Reddit, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, YouTube, TikTok, Threads and Mastodon. The help center adds X and Bluesky, with one catch for X that the credits table below explains.

  • Inbox, Analytics and Client Review

The same page describes a social inbox for comments, mentions and direct messages, analytics you can export as PDF, CSV or PNG, and a review link where a client approves or rejects each post without logging in.

  • A Free Forever Plan

Simplified's social media FAQ says the Free Forever plan includes unlimited design projects, more than 1,000 fonts and 1 GB of storage. That is a useful free design tool even if you never pay.

Simplified Pricing and Spreadcast Pricing in October 2026

Simplified prices are the monthly billing prices in US dollars from the plan cards on Simplified's pricing page, with the yearly billing price in parentheses. Simplified Pro and Spreadcast Pro cost the same on monthly billing, $29, and Simplified is cheaper on yearly billing at $19. The difference is what the price includes. Simplified's price buys the tools and 10K AI credits, and you make the posts. Spreadcast's price includes the posts: designed, captioned and published on 8 networks.

Checked on October 12, 2026. Simplified shows plan card prices in the visitor's local currency, so the dollar figures are the ones served to a US visitor. Add ons listed on the cards: $5 a month per extra social account, $10 a month per extra user, $19 a month for bulk post scheduling. The lower half of the same page describes a Starter plan at $79 a month built around 5 campaigns, which does not match the cards, so confirm the lineup at checkout. Spreadcast prices are on our pricing page.

Simplified Pricing by Plan: Monthly, Yearly and Every Limit

The three paid plans side by side, from the plan cards on Simplified's pricing page as served to a US visitor on October 12, 2026. Growth sits under the agency tab, next to an Enterprise plan with no public price.

Yearly billing is advertised as up to 35 percent off, and the saving differs by plan: $29 to $19 on Pro is 34 percent, and $199 to $149 on Growth is 25 percent. For one app, the limits you would meet first are the 7 social accounts and the credit balance.

Is Simplified AI Free? Free Forever Plan, Trial and Refund Policy

Partly. There is a Free Forever plan, and it is mainly a design tool. Simplified's social media FAQ lists unlimited design projects, more than 1,000 fonts, stock photos, templates, instant publishing and 1 GB of storage. Its help article on cancelling adds that the free social plan holds 3 social channels. The AI credits, the seats and the larger account limits sit on the paid plans.

Pro and Business start with a 7 day trial. The trial is where people get caught, because Simplified's rules are strict and stated plainly. Simplified's refund policy says a $1 or $0 trial converts to a paid subscription automatically after 7 days, that you must cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, and that a trial you did not cancel in time does not qualify for a refund.

The same policy says all subscriptions, monthly and annual, are non refundable. The one exception it describes is a verified technical failure on Simplified's side, reported through live chat with screenshots, on a subscription paid within the last 24 hours. A second help article says Simplified sends no reminder email before a renewal. If you start a trial of a yearly plan, put the end date in your own calendar.

One more inconsistency to know about. The FAQ lower on the pricing page says the trial gives Starter access with 5 campaigns, 100K AI words and 100 AI designs. The plan cards on the same page show no Starter plan and count credits instead of campaigns. Read the checkout screen for the terms you are really agreeing to.

Spreadcast has a free plan with no trial clock. It designs a post for every update, 5 star review and rating milestone of one app, ready to download with a small Spreadcast mark.

Simplified AI Credits: What a Post, an Image and a Video Cost

One credit balance pays for every AI tool in Simplified. These prices come from Simplified's help article on the unified credit system, dated September 8, 2026. Pro includes 10,000 credits a month, Business 30,000 and Growth 100,000.

Publishing a post to X without a link25400
Publishing a post to X with a link25040

The last two rows are the surprise. Simplified's help article on X says every post published to X is charged, and X is the only network the help center lists a publishing charge for. An app update post nearly always carries the App Store link, so each one costs 250 credits there. Credits renew monthly, and the refund policy says unused credits are not refunded. Spreadcast has no credit balance to watch, and it does not post to X.

What Simplified Social Media Scheduling Asks of You

Simplified removes the need for several subscriptions. It does not remove the work. Someone still opens the editor or writes the brief, picks a template, checks the generated copy, fixes the image and puts the result on the calendar.

The newer agent model shortens that loop. According to the pricing page, one campaign is one brief, and it returns a batch of 6 social posts, an email sequence or a set of ad variants for you to approve. That is a real step forward, and it still starts with you deciding there is something to announce and typing it out.

For a marketing team this is fine, because writing briefs is the job. For a solo developer it is the exact step that gets skipped. The release goes live on a Tuesday night, the brief never gets written, and the feed shows a post from four months ago. Spreadcast needs no brief: the release itself starts the post.

Two details are worth knowing before you connect accounts. X and Bluesky are missing from the network list on Simplified's social media page, and the help center shows both can be connected, with posts to X paid for in credits. Those are two places where developers and early adopters talk about apps. Instagram personal profiles work by reminder: Simplified emails you and you publish by hand.

Simplified AI Social Media Post Generator and Carousel Generator

Two of Simplified's AI tools do most of the social work, and both start with a topic you type. The AI social media post generator page describes three steps: open the Social Media AI dashboard, choose AI Post Generator under AI Tools, then add the account and a topic and click Generate. It returns several posts written for that account, which you share straight to the network. The button on the page offers 30 posts at a time.

The AI carousel generator takes a topic, a block of text or a blog link and lays it out as editable slides. You start from a template or a blank canvas, adjust the slides in a drag and drop editor, add AI images, then download a PNG or PDF. Its FAQ says the free version allows unlimited carousels, and the credits table above prices one at 10 credits. For captions alone, our social media caption generator covers the limits per network.

Both tools are fast once you know what to say. Neither knows that your app shipped version 2.4 last night or that it just passed 1,000 ratings, so the topic still has to come from you. Spreadcast reads those events from the listing and designs the post without a topic.

Simplified Features, Area by Area, and What Spreadcast Does for an App

Each card says what Simplified does in that area, from its own pages on October 12, 2026, and what an app founder gets from Spreadcast for the same job.

  • Riley and the AI Agents

Simplified's page for its marketing agent describes Riley, an agent you brief in plain language. Riley plans the campaign, hands the parts to specialist agents for social posts, email, ad creative and copy, applies your brand kit and brings the result back. Nothing publishes until you approve. The brief still has to name the goal, the audience, the offer and the timing. Spreadcast has no brief: the new version on your listing is the instruction.

  • AI Video Generator

This is Simplified's strongest area. The AI video generator offers more than 10 video models, voiceovers in more than 80 languages and exports for 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1. A blog post can become an explainer with a script and matching visuals. Video is also where credits go fastest: a 60 second clip starts at 1,505. Spreadcast makes still image posts, so keep Simplified for a launch video.

  • Social Media Scheduler and Bulk Scheduling

The scheduler has a calendar, queue slots and a best time to post suggestion. Simplified's bulk scheduling page says you can queue up to 10,000 posts, and the plan cards price bulk scheduling as a $19 a month add on. That suits an agency loading a month for ten clients. An app's release posts cannot be loaded in advance, because nobody knows the date App Review will pass a build. In Spreadcast the post is made on the day and takes the next free slot. See the social media content calendar page.

  • Design Editor, Templates and Brand Styles

The free plan alone gives unlimited design projects, templates and fonts, and paid plans add 1, 2 or 5 brand styles that hold your logo, colors and voice. You still choose the template and place the screenshot. Spreadcast reads the icon, the screenshots and the icon's colors from your listing and lays out every post itself. Our brand kit generator page shows what it picks up.

  • Social Inbox

The inbox does not cover every network you can publish to. Simplified's help article on inbox message types lists comments, messages and mentions for Facebook and Instagram, comments and mentions for LinkedIn, comments for YouTube and TikTok, and reviews for Google Business Profile. With Spreadcast you reply inside each network.

  • Analytics and Client Review

Reports export as PDF, CSV or PNG. Simplified's help article on analytics channels names six sources: Facebook Pages, Instagram Business, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn company pages and Pinterest. For agencies, drafts can be bundled into one link where a client approves, rejects or comments on each post without an account. Spreadcast shows basic post stats and is built for your own apps.

How Spreadcast Works as a Simplified AI Alternative

There is no editor to learn and no brief to write. Setup is one link and a few account connections.

  1. Step 1

    Paste Your App Store Link

Do it once at the start page. Spreadcast reads the public listing only. It needs no SDK, no code and no access to your developer account.

  2. Step 2

Your Listing Becomes the Brand Kit

The icon, the screenshots and colors read from the icon set the look of every post. If the app has a website, the logo and fonts come from there. You can adjust all of it on the brand kit screen, and the guide to what a brand kit needs explains which parts matter.

  3. Step 3

Updates, Reviews and Milestones Turn Into Posts

Spreadcast checks the listing every day. A new version becomes an update announcement. A rating milestone such as 1,000 ratings becomes a thank you post. A review quote waits for your approval first, because Apple's ratings and reviews guidance allows reviews in marketing "only if permission from the reviewer is granted".

  4. Step 4

Each Network Gets Its Own Caption

Connect Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram and Discord, plus YouTube for video posts once. Each post takes the next free slot on the calendar and goes out within minutes of its time.

  5. Step 5

    Quiet Weeks Are Covered

When a week passes with no update, Spreadcast drafts a post about one of the app's features. You can also make a single post by hand with New Post, for a launch day or a sale. For ideas, see these app launch announcement examples.

A Worked Week: Your App Ships Version 2.4 on Tuesday

An invented example to show the steps: version 2.4 of a language learning app adds offline lessons and fixes a streak bug. Apple's App Review page says it typically reviews at least 50 percent of submissions in under 24 hours and 90 percent in under 48, so you rarely know the hour a version will go live.

A post with an AI image uses 60 to 80 creditsThe daily check finds version 2.4. Spreadcast cuts the release notes to two or three points and designs the announcement over your own screenshot
Tuesday eveningYou review what came back, approve it and schedule it to your accounts. Pro holds 7, so an eighth network is a $5 add on. The copy for X carries the App Store link and uses 250 credits when it publishesThe post waits for one tap, or goes out on full autopilot, with a caption written for each of the 8 networks
Thursday: a 5 star review arrivesYou see it in App Store Connect and write a second brief with the review text. Whether you may quote the reviewer is yours to checkSpreadcast designs a review post. The version that shows only the rating can publish by itself, and the version that quotes the reviewer waits for you
Saturday: the app passes 1,000 ratingsA third brief, if you noticed the numberSpreadcast designs a thank you post for the milestone
The week after, with no releaseOne brief returns a batch of 6 posts to review, on the topic you give itSpreadcast drafts a post about one feature of the app

The week in Simplified: three briefs, three reviews of the output and about 1,000 credits if all three posts go to X with a link. The week in Spreadcast: three taps in approve first mode. On full autopilot only the post that quotes the reviewer needs you.

What 8 Networks Cost on Simplified Against Spreadcast Pro at $29

Count the accounts first. Spreadcast Pro publishes to 8 networks. Simplified Pro includes 7 social accounts, and the plan cards say add ons are available on every plan and price an extra account at $5 a month. On monthly billing that is $29 plus $5, or $34 a month, against $29 flat: $5 more each month and $60 more over a year. If the add on is not offered to you at checkout, the next plan up is Business at $79.

Yearly billing turns the sum around. Simplified Pro billed yearly is $228, and the eighth account adds $60, for $288 a year. Spreadcast Pro billed yearly is $290. So Simplified is $2 a year cheaper if you pay up front, with no refund if you change your mind.

Then count the credits. A month for one app might hold 2 update posts, 3 review posts, 1 milestone post and 2 feature posts. Generating 8 posts with an AI image uses 480 to 640 credits. Publishing those 8 to X with a link uses 8 times 250, or 2,000. Together that is about 2,500 of the 10,000 credits on Pro, so the balance covers it with room for a video or two.

What neither sum includes is the time. Simplified's price buys the tools, and each of those 8 posts still begins with your brief or your hand in the editor. Spreadcast's $29 includes the posts themselves: designed from your listing, captioned for each network and published. We work through the value of that hour in the real cost of designing social posts by hand.

Simplified AI Reviews: Pros and Cons From Its Own Pages

We did not run a blind test of output quality, and we make Spreadcast, so this Simplified review keeps to what you can check on Simplified's pages and help center as of October 2026. For customer opinions, Simplified's pricing page displays a G2 rating of 4.6 out of 5 from more than 5,000 reviews, and G2 is the place to read them in full.

The in app purchase names on the App Store do not match the plan cards on the web, so compare before you buy inside the app. A subscription bought in the app is cancelled in your Apple or Google account, as the cancel steps below explain. Spreadcast needs no phone app for its main job: the post starts from your App Store listing.

Is Simplified Legit? What You Can Check Before You Pay

Yes, it is a real, working product with a long public record. The App Store lists the publisher as TLDR Technologies, Inc., and the iPhone app first went up in September 2022. Simplified's own pages claim more than 15 million users and show a G2 rating of 4.6 from 5,008 or more reviews. Those two numbers are the vendor's, and G2 is where to read the reviews themselves.

The phone apps tell a less flattering story: 2.5 out of 5 from 20 ratings on the US App Store and 3.7 from 534 reviews on Google Play, on the dates in the table above. Most of the product is used on the web, so treat the store ratings as a view of the mobile apps only.

The checks that matter most are in the help center and are covered on this page: the trial converts by itself, renewals come without a reminder email, and payments are not refunded. Put the trial end date in your calendar, and the risk is small.

When Simplified Is the Better Choice

Choose Simplified when you need video. Short clips, subtitles and AI generated video are a large part of what it sells. Spreadcast makes still image posts.

It is also the better pick when social posts are one item on a longer list. If the same week includes a blog article, a set of ads, an email sequence and a slide deck, a suite that does all of them in one brand style is the right base, with Spreadcast beside it for the app posts.

Client work is the third case. Seats, client review links, shared calendars and reports are agency features, and the Growth plan is built around them. Spreadcast Studio covers 5 apps with 3 seats and is built for a studio's own apps.

Finally, a general tool is the right call when you have no app on the App Store. A coffee shop, a newsletter or a consulting practice has no listing for Spreadcast to read. For those, the roundup of AI social media post generators is the place to start. If you do have an app, it does not have to be one or the other: keep Simplified for the one off pieces and let Spreadcast run the recurring app posts.

Simplified AI Presentation Maker and Other Jobs to Keep It For

Social is one tab of the suite. Simplified's AI presentation maker page describes Riley building a deck from a short brief in your brand kit: 6 slides by default and up to 30 on request, at 16:9 and 1920 by 1080 pixels, exported as PDF, HTML, PNG or ZIP. The page lists no PowerPoint export. It is free to start on credits, and it says paid plans start at $29 a month with no cap on decks.

For an app founder that covers the investor update, the pitch to a partner and the conference talk, none of which come from an App Store listing. The same is true of a blog article, an email sequence or an ad set. Those are good reasons to keep a Simplified seat while Spreadcast runs the posts that do come from the listing.

Can You Use Simplified and Spreadcast Together?

Yes. The cleanest split is by type of post. Spreadcast handles everything that comes from the App Store listing, which is the predictable, repeating part: version announcements, review posts, milestone posts and a feature post in quiet weeks.

Simplified then handles what a listing cannot produce: a launch video, a founder story, a carousel that explains a workflow, a paid ad set. You make those when you have the time and the idea, and the feed stays alive in between because the app posts keep going out.

If both tools publish to the same Instagram or LinkedIn account, look at both calendars once a week so two posts do not land in the same hour. Spreadcast lets you drag a post to another day, which is usually the faster fix.

The free plans make this cheap to test. Simplified's Free Forever plan covers design work, and Spreadcast's free plan shows you the drafts it would make from your listing before you pay for publishing.

Other Simplified Alternatives by the Job You Need Done

People leave a suite for different reasons. We make Spreadcast, and it comes first because it is the only tool here that makes the posts for you. Each of the others replaces one part of the suite. Prices are from each vendor's own pricing page, checked on October 12, 2026, with Predis.ai checked again on October 17.

Simplified vs Canva, Buffer and Predis AI: Short Answers

Three comparisons people search for, answered from each vendor's own pricing as of October 2026.

  • Simplified vs Canva

Canva for design alone, Simplified when you also want writing, video and a scheduler in the same login. Canva's pricing page lists Pro at $144 a year for one person, and Simplified Pro is $228 a year. Both have a free plan for design. Simplified's own pricing page names Canva first among the tools it says one subscription replaces. Neither one starts a post when your app ships.

  • Simplified vs Buffer

Buffer for a plain queue, Simplified for making the content. Buffer is free for 3 channels, and 7 channels on Essentials cost 7 times $6, or $42 a month, on Buffer's pricing page. Simplified Pro covers 7 social accounts for $29 with the editor and 10,000 credits. Buffer's assistant writes text only, and its price does not change with how often you post to X.

  • Simplified vs Predis AI

Both generate posts from a prompt on credits. Predis.ai Core is $32 a month with 1,300 credits, which Predis.ai puts at about 325 images. Simplified Pro is $29 with 10,000 credits at 60 to 80 a post, which Simplified puts at about 125 to 166 posts. Simplified adds a full editor, an inbox and a free plan. Predis.ai's pricing page shows a 3 day trial, and both vendors say payments are not refunded.

How to Cancel Simplified: The Steps From Its Help Center

Taken from Simplified's help articles on cancelling a subscription and cancelling a trial, read on October 12, 2026. You cancel yourself, and deleting the app or not logging in does not count as cancelling.

  1. Step 1

Open Billing in Your Account Settings

Go to account settings and choose Billing. On a paid plan, click View Details next to the plan name. If more than one member is in the workspace, the help article says you must remove the others before you can cancel.

  2. Step 2

Cancel the Subscription or the Trial

On a paid plan, open the dropdown arrow beside Change Plan and choose Cancel Subscription, pick a reason and continue. On a trial, open the dropdown beside Start Subscription and choose the red Cancel Trial option, at least 24 hours before the trial ends. The trial stops at once and the account moves to Free Forever.

  3. Step 3

    Know What Changes

A paid plan stays active until its expiry date and does not renew. After that the workspace moves to Free Forever. The help article warns that social channels above the free plan's 3 are disconnected and their scheduled posts leave the calendar, so move anything you still need first.

  4. Step 4

    Check Where You Subscribed

A subscription bought inside the iPhone or Android app is cancelled in your Apple or Google account, at least 24 hours before the next billing date. If you only need a break, Simplified also lets you pause a subscription and resume it later.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Simplified AI free?

Partly. Simplified's social media FAQ describes a Free Forever plan with unlimited design projects, more than 1,000 fonts and 1 GB of storage. Pro and Business start with a 7 day trial that converts to a paid plan by itself, and the AI credits, seats and larger account limits sit on the paid plans.

How much does Simplified cost in 2026?

As of October 2026 the plan cards on Simplified's pricing page show Pro at $29 a month, Business at $79 and Growth at $199 on monthly billing. Yearly billing brings those to $19, $49 and $149 a month. Prices are shown in local currency outside the US, and the page also mentions a $79 Starter plan in its lower sections, so check the total at checkout. Spreadcast Pro is the same $29 a month, and that price includes the posts: designed, captioned and published on 8 networks.

What is Simplified AI used for?

Design, writing, video and social media in one place. People use it to make graphics from templates, generate copy and images with AI, cut and caption video, and schedule the results to their social accounts. It is a general marketing tool and is not specific to apps.

Does Simplified post to X or Bluesky?

Yes, according to its help center, although neither is in the network list on Simplified's social media page. Each post published to X uses credits: 25 without a link and 250 with one. Spreadcast publishes to Bluesky as part of Pro and does not post to X.

Does Simplified give refunds?

No. Simplified's refund policy says monthly and annual subscriptions are non refundable, and that a trial not cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends is billed without a refund. The exception is a verified technical failure reported within 24 hours of payment.

What are the best Simplified alternatives?

If you have an app on the App Store, Spreadcast: it designs your update, review and milestone posts and publishes them for you, with no weekly work. Otherwise it depends on which part of the suite you used. For design, Canva. For scheduling, Buffer. For AI generated posts from a prompt, Predis.ai. The alternatives hub has a full comparison for every one.

Is Spreadcast a Simplified alternative for video?

Not for video. Spreadcast makes 1080 by 1350 still image posts with typeset text. Keep Simplified or another video tool for Reels, short clips and AI generated video, and let Spreadcast run the app posts.

Can Spreadcast replace Simplified for an app studio?

For the apps' own social accounts, yes. Studio covers 5 apps with a separate brand for each and 3 seats at $79 a month, the monthly price of Simplified Business, and it designs and publishes the posts for you. Keep Simplified for blog articles, ads and client review links. Read more about the fit on the page for mobile apps.
