What Is an Instagram Post Generator?
An Instagram post generator is a tool that produces a post you can publish, meaning the image, the caption and usually the hashtags, from a small input such as a prompt, a link or a template. The name covers three kinds of tool.
A caption generator takes a topic and a tone and returns text. An Instagram post maker gives you templates and an editor, and you place the picture and the words yourself. An AI image generator draws a picture from a description. A tool sold as an Instagram post generator with captions and hashtags joins the first and the third: one prompt in, one picture and one caption out.
An automated Instagram post generator removes the prompt. It watches a source, decides that something is worth a post, makes the post and publishes it. Spreadcast is that kind, and its source is one thing: the public page of an app on the App Store.
What This Instagram Post Generator Makes, and Who It Is For
Most tools sold as an Instagram post generator are a prompt box. You describe a picture, a model draws it, and you download a square. That suits a bakery, a coach or a meme page. Spreadcast does a different job. It designs and publishes Instagram posts for an app that is live on the App Store, and it takes its material from the listing instead of from a prompt.
Three things in your listing start a post. A new version becomes an update announcement, with the release notes cut down to two or three points. A new 5 star review or a rating milestone, such as 1,000 ratings or a 4.8 average, becomes a thank you post. In a week with no update, Spreadcast drafts a post about one feature so the grid does not go quiet.
If you want an Instagram post maker with templates you fill in by hand, that is a design tool, and our Canva comparison shows how the two fit together. If you want a general prompt tool, the roundup of AI social media post generators lists them with prices. Stay on this page if you ship an iPhone app and your feed has been empty since launch week.
The AI part is the writing. A language model reads your release notes and turns them into short points and a caption. The picture is a layout, set in real type with your icon, your colors and your actual screenshots. The interface in the post is the interface in your app, and no letter comes out garbled.
How It Works, From App Store Link to Published Instagram Post
Setup takes a few minutes and happens once. After that, the work starts from your releases.
- Step 1
Paste Your App Store Link
Go to the start page and paste the link to your app. Spreadcast reads the public listing: name, icon, screenshots, version, release notes, rating and reviews. There is no SDK to install and no access to your developer account. App Store only today.
- Step 2
Check the Brand Kit
Colors are read from your icon. If the app has a website, the logo and fonts come from there. You can correct any of it on the brand kit screen before a post is made.
- Step 3
Connect a Professional Instagram Account
Outside tools publish through Meta's publishing interface, which Meta's content publishing guide limits to professional accounts. A professional account is either Business or Creator and can be switched back to personal at any time, according to Instagram's page on professional accounts. You sign in on Instagram itself, so Spreadcast never sees your password.
- Step 4
Spreadcast Checks Your Listing Every Day
When a new version, a new 5 star review or a rating milestone shows up, it designs a 1080 by 1350 post and writes an Instagram caption for it. When the release notes only say bug fixes, there is nothing to announce, and no update post is made.
- Step 5
Approve With One Tap, or Let It Run
In approve first mode, every post waits for you. In full autopilot, posts go out by themselves, with one exception: a post that quotes a reviewer's words always waits for your approval.
- Step 6
The Post Publishes in the Next Free Slot
Each post takes the next open slot on your calendar and goes out within minutes of it. Drag it to another day if the timing is wrong. The social media content calendar page shows how slots work.
Instagram Post Size and Limits in October 2026
These are the numbers a feed post has to fit. Each one links to the Instagram or Meta page it comes from. Two of those pages disagree on hashtags, so both figures are shown.
| Spec | What Instagram says | What it means for an app post |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram post size in the app | Photos are kept at up to 1080 pixels wide, in any shape between 1.91:1 and 3:4, which is 566 to 1440 pixels tall at full width, per Instagram's image resolution page | A shape outside that range is cropped. Design at 1080 wide. |
| Size accepted from publishing tools | JPEG only, up to 8 MB, between 4:5 and 1.91:1, per Meta's media reference for Instagram | Spreadcast posts are 1080 by 1350, exactly 4:5, the tallest shape a scheduling tool can publish. |
| Caption length | 2,200 characters, in the same Meta reference | Plenty for the points from your release notes. Put the version and the main change in the first line. |
| Hashtags | Instagram's Help Center says "You can use up to 5 tags on a post" on its hashtag page. Meta's media reference still lists 30. | Plan for 5. Pick ones that name your category, such as #budgetingapp. |
| Mentions | 20 @ tags per caption, per the Meta reference | Rarely a limit for an app account. |
| Links in your profile | Up to 5 websites, per Instagram's page on adding a website to your profile | Put the App Store link first. This is where a caption that says link in bio sends people. |
| Links in Stories | The Link sticker has been open to all accounts since October 2021, per Instagram's announcement about links in Stories | Share the feed post to your Story and add the sticker yourself. Spreadcast does not make Stories. |
| Posts per day from a tool | 100 published posts in any 24 hours, per Meta's content publishing guide | Far above what an app account needs. |
Checked on October 11, 2026. For every network side by side, see the social media image sizes reference.
Instagram Post Formats and Sizes in Pixels
The table above covers the limits on one feed image. This one lists each format an app account is likely to use, with its size in pixels and its ratio.
| Format | Size in pixels and ratio | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Portrait feed post | 1080 by 1350, which is 4:5 | The tallest shape a publishing tool can send, and the shape of every Spreadcast post. Posting by hand in the app, you can go to 3:4, which is 1080 by 1440. |
| Square | 1080 by 1080, which is 1:1 | Inside the supported range. Meta's pages disagree on it for ads: Meta's best practices for aspect ratios recommend 1:1 for a single image ad in Instagram Feed, while Meta's Ads Guide for Instagram Feed lists 4:5 at 1440 by 1800. |
| Landscape | 1080 by 566, which is 1.91:1 | The widest shape Instagram keeps. It is the smallest on a phone, so save it for a wide screenshot such as an iPad or Mac view. |
| Carousel | Up to 20 photos and videos, all in one orientation | Per Instagram's page on posts with multiple photos. Publishing tools can send up to 10 items, per Meta's media reference. Spreadcast designs carousels of 3 to 8 slides and publishes them as real carousels. |
| Reel | 9:16 fills the screen. Ratios from 1.91:1 to 9:16 are accepted | A minimum resolution of 720 pixels and 30 frames per second, per Instagram's page on Reel sizes. Spreadcast designs no video, but a video you attach to a post is published as a Reel. |
| Story | 9:16, with 1440 by 2560 recommended for ads | Keep about 14 percent at the top, 35 percent at the bottom and 6 percent on each side free of text and logos, per Meta's Ads Guide for Instagram Stories. |
Checked on October 11, 2026. Screenshot sizes for the listing itself are on the App Store screenshot sizes page.
Instagram Carousel Size and Aspect Ratio, and the Carousels Spreadcast Makes
One shape for every slide. Instagram's page on posts with multiple photos allows up to 20 photos and videos in the app and says the orientation you pick, square, portrait or landscape, applies to all of them: you cannot choose a different one per slide. A publishing tool works within tighter limits. Meta's content publishing guide caps a carousel at 10 images, videos or a mix, crops every item to the shape of the first one with 1:1 as the default, and counts the whole carousel as one post toward the daily limit. Each image has to be a JPEG between 4:5 and 1.91:1.
So the best Instagram carousel size is 1080 by 1350 for every slide. It is the tallest shape a tool can publish, it fills the most of a phone screen, and when all slides match nothing gets cropped. If you post a carousel from the app with slides of different shapes, they will be cut to the one orientation you choose.
After posting, the same help page lets you reorder slides, remove one, and edit the caption, location and tags. You cannot add a new photo to a carousel that is already up. Videos inside a carousel do not count as Reels and do not appear in the Reels tab.
Spreadcast makes carousels on the Create page. You describe what the carousel is about, for example three things that are new in this update, and it designs 3 to 8 slides at 1080 by 1350 in your app's icon, colors and fonts: a cover, real screenshots in an iPhone frame and a last slide that sends people to the App Store. It writes the Instagram caption with up to 5 hashtags and, on Pro, publishes the slides as a real swipeable carousel. From Claude or ChatGPT the same design runs through the Instagram MCP server and lands as a draft. For slide text written in a chat, see ChatGPT prompts for Instagram carousel posts.
Instagram Posts Spreadcast Makes for Your App, With Example Captions
The examples are for an imaginary hiking app called Trailmate. Yours are written from your own listing, and you can edit any caption before it goes out.
App Update Post
The image reads Version 3.2 Is Here under a New Update tag, with two or three short points and one of your screenshots. Example caption: "Version 3.2 is here. Offline maps for the whole route, a cleaner elevation chart, and saved trails that sync across your devices. Update from the App Store, link in bio. #hikingapp #trailmaps #offlinemaps" More layouts are in our app update announcement examples.
Rating Post
One large number, the stars, and the count of ratings behind it, in your brand colors. This kind can go out by itself because it shows only the rating. Apple's ratings and reviews page says a rating used in marketing has to match your current rating, so the number comes from that day's listing. Example caption: "4.8 on the App Store, from 2,140 ratings. Thank you to everyone who took a minute to rate Trailmate after a hike. #hikingapp #appstore"
5 Star Review Post
A reviewer's sentence set large, with the five stars. The same Apple page allows customer reviews in marketing only with the reviewer's permission, so this kind never publishes until you approve it. Example caption: "This one made our week. Thank you for letting us share it. Trailmate is on the App Store, link in bio. #hikingapp" The guide to getting App Store reviews covers how to ask for them.
Rating Milestone Post
When the listing crosses a round number, such as 1,000 ratings, or reaches a 4.8 average, Spreadcast makes a thank you post. Example caption: "1,000 ratings. Two years ago this was a weekend project with eleven testers. Thank you for every single one. #indiedev #hikingapp"
Feature Post for a Quiet Week
No release this week, so Spreadcast drafts a post about one thing the app already does, using a screenshot from your listing. Example caption: "No signal at the trailhead. Trailmate keeps your downloaded route on screen with no connection at all. On the App Store, link in bio. #hikingapp #offlinemaps"
Instagram Captions and Hashtags for an App Post
A caption for an app post has three jobs: say what changed, say who it is for, and say where to get it. The limit is 2,200 characters, but the picture already carries the headline, so two to four sentences are enough. A reader who stops after the first line should still know what shipped.
Instagram's hashtag page now sets the limit at 5 tags on a post, so each tag has to describe something a person would search for: the category (#budgetingapp), the job (#mealplanning) or the audience (#indiedev). Spreadcast writes the tags with the caption, and you can swap any of them before the post goes out.
Here are two example captions for one release of the imaginary hiking app Trailmate. The short one: "Version 3.2: offline maps for the whole route. Update on the App Store, link in bio. #hikingapp #offlinemaps" The one with a reason: "A tester lost signal two miles from the trailhead, so we built offline maps. Version 3.2 keeps the whole route on your phone. Link in bio. #hikingapp #trailmaps" Both name the version, the change and the place to get it.
On AI labels, Instagram's page on labeling AI content requires one on photorealistic video and realistic sounding audio that was generated or altered, and says Meta does not require one for images. No part of a Spreadcast image is drawn by an image model.
How to Promote an App on Instagram With Still Posts
Half of U.S. adults use Instagram, and among adults aged 18 to 29 the share is 80 percent, according to Pew Research Center's social media fact sheet, which reports a survey of 5,022 adults run from February to June 2025. Women use it more than men, 55 percent against 44. For ages 30 to 49 the figure is 62 percent, so an app aimed at people under 50 has most of its audience here.
Format matters, and a still image is the middle option. Buffer's 2026 analysis of over 45 million posts found a median engagement rate, measured against reach, of 6.9 percent for carousels, 4.4 percent for single images and 3.3 percent for Reels. The same article reports that Reels reach about 2.25 times as many people as single image posts. A designed still post is a solid way to keep the people who already follow you informed. It is a weak way to reach strangers. To see how your own posts compare, use the engagement rate calculator.
Frequency has numbers behind it. Buffer's study of 2.1 million Instagram feed posts from about 102,000 accounts, published in August 2025, found that accounts posting 3 to 5 times a week grew followers at more than twice the rate of accounts posting once or twice (0.26 percent against 0.12), and that weeks with no post at all fell below an account's own usual growth. Buffer notes the link may not be fully causal. An app that ships every two weeks cannot reach that from releases alone, which is why Spreadcast also posts reviews and rating milestones and drafts a feature post in a quiet week.
Three kinds of still post earn their place on an app account. An update post gives existing users a reason to open the app again. A review or rating post is proof from someone other than you. A feature post answers the question a new visitor has when they land on your profile, which is what the app does. Put that answer in the image itself, where nobody has to tap to read it.
Decide where the tap goes before you post. Instagram documents two places for a link: your profile, which holds up to 5 websites, and the Link sticker in Stories. That is why app captions end with link in bio. Keep the App Store link first in your profile and leave it there.
For the plan across every network, read how to promote an app on social media. The same update also becomes a post for other feeds, and the Facebook post generator, the LinkedIn post generator and the Pinterest pin generator pages explain what changes on each.
How the Instagram Feed Ranks a Post, According to Meta
Meta publishes a description of the system that orders the feed. Meta's system card for Instagram Feed, updated on June 29, 2026, describes four steps. The system gathers the posts from accounts a person follows, narrows them to about 700 with a light model, scores about 500 of those for relevance, and orders them by score while keeping a mix of content types.
The card also lists what the models try to predict and which signals feed each prediction. Three of them bear on a still post from an app account. Whether a person will enjoy the post is predicted from positive actions such as liking, commenting or resharing, and from the time spent on it. How long a person will spend on a post takes into account whether it is a photo and how much text is laid over it. Whether a person will send it to someone in a direct message draws on whether the post is informative content, which Meta spells out as news, product reviews, tutorials and how tos.
Read that as a design brief. An update post with the version, two or three concrete changes and a real screenshot is informative content with readable text on it. Meta does not say that more text ranks higher, only that text on a photo is one of the things the model looks at, so keep the points short enough to read at arm's length.
Instagram's own explanation of ranking adds the view from the account. Among the signals for Feed, it lists how many times people have interacted with an account in the past few weeks. An account that posted at launch and went silent has no recent interactions to count. One real post per release, review or milestone keeps that history alive without filler.
Can You Schedule Instagram Posts? In the App, for Free or From a Tool
Yes, in the Instagram app itself and at no charge. Instagram's page on scheduled posts lets a public account schedule photos, carousels and Reels: create the post, tap More options, turn on Schedule this post, pick a date and time and tap Schedule. You can schedule up to 25 posts a day and up to 30 days ahead. Scheduled content sits under Menu, then Scheduled content on your profile, where you can edit, reschedule, delete or share it straight away. Product tags, collaborative posts, sponsored posts and fundraisers cannot be scheduled.
Can you schedule Instagram posts without a business account? In the app, yes, as long as the account is public. Outside tools are different: Meta's publishing interface works only with professional accounts, Business or Creator, and allows 100 published posts in any 24 hours. Switching to a professional account is free and can be reversed, as the setup step above explains.
The native scheduler times a post you already made. What it cannot do is notice that version 3.2 went live and make the post. Spreadcast does that part: it designs the post from your listing, writes the caption and puts it in the next free slot, where you can move it. Publishing and scheduling are part of Pro at $29 a month. On the Free plan you download each draft and schedule it in the Instagram app yourself.

How to Post on Instagram and Facebook at the Same Time
From the Instagram app, Instagram's page on sharing to Facebook adds an Also share on option before you post, where you switch on your Facebook Page, and an Accounts Center setting under Sharing across profiles that shares every future post automatically. It works in the Instagram app for Android and iPhone only.
If an Instagram post is not sharing to Facebook, or lands on the wrong profile, Instagram's cross posting troubleshooting page points to the account type: personal and creator profiles can share to either a Page or a personal Facebook profile, while business profiles can only share to a Page.
Either way the caption is the same on both networks. Spreadcast publishes the same moment to Instagram and to your Facebook Page with a caption written for each, so the Instagram one says link in bio and the Facebook one carries the App Store link. The Business Suite route and the Facebook side are covered on the Facebook post generator page.
How to Post on Instagram Without Losing Quality
Most blurry posts come from a file Instagram had to resize or convert. These are the rules it publishes, and what to do about each.
Upload 1080 Pixels Wide
Instagram's image resolution page keeps a photo at its original resolution when it is between 320 and 1080 pixels wide and between 1.91:1 and 3:4 in shape. A wider photo is sized down to 1080, a smaller one is enlarged to 320, and a shape outside the range is cropped. Export at exactly 1080 by 1350.
Export a JPEG in the Right Color Space
Meta's media reference for Instagram accepts JPEG only from publishing tools, up to 8 MB, and converts any other color space to sRGB. Export in sRGB yourself so the colors you approved are the colors people see.
Turn On Upload at Highest Quality
For Reels, Instagram's page on Reel sizes describes a Media quality setting under Menu with an Upload at highest quality toggle. Uploads take longer with it on. The same page asks for at least 720 pixels and 30 frames per second.
Never Post a Screenshot of a Post
Each save and screenshot compresses the image again. Keep the original export and upload that file. For app screenshots inside a post, start from the full resolution captures listed on the App Store screenshot sizes page.
Four Ways to Make Instagram Posts for an App, Compared
Every route ends with a post on your grid. They differ in who makes the picture, who writes the caption and who presses publish. We make Spreadcast, so it comes first. Other prices come from each vendor's own page, as of October 2026.
| Way | Who makes the post | Who publishes it | What it costs | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spreadcast | Spreadcast designs the 4:5 image from your App Store listing and writes the Instagram caption when a version, review or milestone appears | Spreadcast publishes it in the next free slot, after one tap or with none | The Free plan drafts every post for download. Pro is $29 a month flat, with design, captions and publishing to 8 networks included, per the pricing page | You ship an app regularly and nobody has time to make the posts |
| By hand in a design editor | You, in a template, for every release | You, or the editor's scheduler. Canva's page on scheduling Instagram posts asks for a Business account and schedules single posts only | Canva Pro is $18 a month for one person, and the hour per post is yours | You enjoy designing and want a different look each time |
| With a chat assistant | The assistant writes a caption from what you paste in. The picture is still yours to build | You, by hand | Claude Pro is $20 a month billed monthly, with a free plan beside it | You need words for a one off post |
| With a scheduler | You make the image and the caption first | The scheduler, at the time you pick | Instagram's own app schedules up to 25 posts a day, 30 days ahead at no charge. Buffer Essentials is $6 a channel billed monthly, so 8 networks come to $48 a month before anyone has made a post | Your posts already exist and only the timing is missing |
Many app teams pair two of these: Spreadcast for the recurring posts about releases, reviews and ratings, and an editor or an assistant for a one off post. Tool by tool comparisons are on the Canva and Buffer pages.
Spreadcast vs an AI Image Generator or a Chat Assistant
A chat assistant or an image model can make an Instagram post too. The difference is where the facts come from and who does the remaining steps. You can also connect your assistant to Spreadcast through its MCP server, so Claude or ChatGPT can design posts and carousels in your app's brand, write the captions and schedule them there, drafts only by default.
| AI image generator or chat assistant | Spreadcast | |
|---|---|---|
| What starts a post | You, with a prompt, every time | Spreadcast starts it when a new version, review or milestone appears in your App Store listing |
| Your time per post | Writing the prompt, fixing the picture, writing the caption and uploading it | One tap to approve, or none on full autopilot |
| Setup | A new prompt and new pasted details for each post | One App Store link, pasted once |
| Where the facts come from | Whatever you paste in. It knows your version number and rating only if you tell it. | Spreadcast reads the public listing every day |
| Your app in the picture | An invented picture, unless you upload screenshots and place them yourself | Spreadcast designs it with your real icon and screenshots, in your colors, with typeset text |
| Caption | Written when you ask, at whatever length you ask for | Spreadcast writes it for Instagram, inside the 2,200 character limit, and you can edit it |
| Publishing | You download the result and post it by hand | Spreadcast publishes it to your Instagram account in the next free slot, on Pro |
| Quoted reviews | No check on whether you may quote the reviewer | A post that quotes a reviewer always waits for your approval |
| Best when | You want one picture about any topic | You ship an app regularly and want each release announced without doing it yourself |
Common Mistakes on an App's Instagram Account
Each of these costs an app account reach or trust, and each can be checked against the page it links to.
Copying 30 Hashtags From an Old Guide
Instagram's hashtag page allows up to 5 tags on a post, while older guides still say 30. Pick 5 that name the category and the job the app does.
Pasting Raw Release Notes as the Caption
Notes written for the App Store at midnight read like a changelog. Rewrite them as what a user can now do. Our app release notes examples show both versions side by side.
Leaving the App Store Link Untracked
Instagram's help pages name two homes for a link: the profile and the Link sticker in Stories. Use a campaign link in both, so App Store Connect shows what Instagram sent. Apple's page on campaign links explains the campaign token, a name of up to 30 characters, and says a campaign appears once it has first time downloads from at least 5 people.
Setting Text Too Small for a Phone
Meta's best practices for image ads ask for a clean font, a size large enough to read, a color that contrasts with the background, and a visible brand or logo. The same holds for an organic post. Three short points beat a paragraph of small type.
Your First Week: From App Store Link to the First Instagram Post
This is how the first seven days go for an app that has a listing and an Instagram account with one launch post on it.
- Step 1
Day 1: Paste the Link and Fix the Profile
Paste your App Store link at the start page and correct anything in the brand kit, because every later post uses it. The brand kit generator page explains what it reads. In the Instagram app, switch the account to Business or Creator and put the App Store link first among your profile links.
- Step 2
Day 2: Read the First Draft
If no version shipped this week, the first draft is a feature post built from one of your listing screenshots. Read the caption, change any word that does not sound like you, and approve it.
- Step 3
Day 3: The Post Goes Out in Its Slot
The approved post takes the next free slot on the calendar. With no data of your own yet, start from Buffer's 2026 analysis of over 52 million posts, which found 9 a.m. on Thursday, local time, to be the best time to post on Instagram. Move the slot once your own insights say otherwise.
- Step 4
Day 4: Share It to Your Story and Pin It
Share the feed post to your Story and add the Link sticker with the App Store link. If the post explains the app well, pin it. Instagram's page on pinning posts lets you keep up to 3 posts at the top of your profile, so a new visitor sees what the app does before anything else.
- Step 5
Day 5 to 7: Ship, and the Update Post Follows
When your next version goes live, Spreadcast finds it on its daily check, cuts the release notes to two or three points and drafts the update post. At the end of the week, open the free insights that Instagram's page on insights describes, which cover up to the past 90 days, and see which post held attention. Then choose between approve first and full autopilot.
What Stays With You on Instagram
Spreadcast designs and publishes image and carousel feed posts from your listing. These parts of Instagram stay in your hands, with what to do about each.
Filming Reels and Video
Spreadcast designs still images and carousels, not video. If Reels are your plan for reaching new people, film those yourself. You can attach the clip to a post in Spreadcast and it publishes it as a Reel, while the designed posts cover every release in between.
Carousels of Your Own Photos
Spreadcast designs carousels of 3 to 8 slides from your brand and listing. A carousel of team or event photos, or one longer than the 10 items a publishing tool can send, is yours to post in the Instagram app.
Stories
Sharing a feed post to your Story takes a few taps in the Instagram app.
Ads and Boosting
Spreadcast publishes organic posts. Ads and boosted posts run from your own ad account.
Pictures From a Prompt
Posts come from your listing, so the picture always shows your real app. For a mascot, a product photo or a meme, use an image tool, or make a single post by hand with New Post, inside your brand kit.
Google Play
Spreadcast works from the App Store today. Google Play is next on the list.
Rules That Matter Before You Post About Your App
Two sets of rules apply to these posts: Apple's, because the material comes from the App Store, and Meta's, because the post lives on Instagram.
Apple's ratings and reviews page lets you show your rating in marketing as long as it matches the current one, and lets you use a customer's review only when that reviewer has given permission. That is the reason a quoted review never publishes by itself in Spreadcast. Badge and screenshot rules are summarized on our App Store marketing guidelines page.
Meta's branded content policies define branded content as a creator's or publisher's post that features or is influenced by a business partner in exchange for value, and they require the branded content tool for it. A post about your own app on your own account has no business partner in it. The policy starts to apply when you pay or gift a creator to post about the app: that creator has to tag you with the tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a free Instagram post generator for apps?
Yes. Spreadcast's Free plan covers 1 app, spots updates, reviews and milestones, and designs each post for you to download, with a small Spreadcast mark on it. You post it yourself. Pro is $29 a month flat, with design, captions and publishing to 8 networks included. Plans are on the pricing page.
What is the best Instagram post size in 2026?
1080 by 1350 pixels, a 4:5 portrait. Instagram keeps photos at up to 1080 pixels wide and its app accepts shapes from 1.91:1 to 3:4, per Instagram's image resolution page. Publishing tools are limited to 4:5 at the tallest, so 1080 by 1350 is the largest portrait that works everywhere. Checked in October 2026.
How many hashtags can you use on an Instagram post?
Up to 5, according to Instagram's hashtag page as of October 2026. Meta's reference for publishing tools still lists 30, so older guides repeat that number. Treat 5 as the limit. You can edit the caption, tags included, before a post goes out.
Can you put an App Store link in an Instagram post?
The link belongs in your profile, where Instagram allows up to 5 websites, or in a Story with the Link sticker. Captions point people there with link in bio. Add the App Store link under Edit profile, then Links, in the Instagram app.
Does this Instagram post generator use AI?
For the words, yes. A language model writes the points and the caption from your release notes. The image is a designed layout that uses your real icon, colors and screenshots, so it is not an AI generated picture.
Do I need an Instagram business account?
You need a professional account, which can be Business or Creator, because Meta's publishing interface works only with those. Switching is done in the Instagram app and can be reversed, and a professional account cannot be private, per Instagram's page on professional accounts.
Does Spreadcast make Reels or carousels for Instagram?
Carousels, yes. The autopilot makes one designed image per update, review or milestone, and on the Create page you can ask for a carousel of 3 to 8 slides in your app's brand, which Spreadcast publishes as a real Instagram carousel. It designs no video, but it will publish a clip you record as a Reel. Stories stay with you.
How do I promote my app on Instagram without paying for ads?
Post each release as a designed update post, share reviews with the reviewer's permission, keep the App Store link first in your profile, and share each post to your Story with a Link sticker. How to promote an app for free goes through the other free channels, and the social media caption generator page covers captions.
