Facebook Post Generator for Apps on the App Store

Spreadcast is a Facebook post generator for apps on the App Store. Paste your App Store link once, and it designs a post for each app update, 5 star review and rating milestone, writes the caption for Facebook and publishes it to your Page.

Free to start · No credit card · No manual posting

What Is a Facebook Post Generator?

A Facebook post generator is a tool that produces a post for Facebook, meaning the text, the image or both, from a short input such as a topic, a tone or a link. Most free ones are text boxes that return a few caption options.

The same search brings up two other things. A Facebook post maker is a template editor where you build the image yourself. A mockup generator, sometimes listed as a fake Facebook post generator, draws a picture of a post for a presentation or a joke and publishes nothing.

Spreadcast is a fourth kind: an announcement post generator that needs no prompt. It reads an app's public page on the App Store, turns each update, review and rating milestone into a designed image with a caption, and publishes it to the app's Facebook Page.

A Facebook Post Generator That Starts From Your App Store Listing

Search for a Facebook post generator and you mostly find text boxes: type a topic, pick a tone, get three captions. A Facebook post maker with templates gives you the picture and leaves the words to you. Both expect you to arrive with an idea. Spreadcast is built for app developers, who have the opposite problem. The ideas exist, because every release ships something, and nobody has an hour to turn it into a post.

So the input is your App Store listing, which Spreadcast checks every day. A new version becomes an update announcement. A new 5 star review or a rating milestone becomes a thank you post. A week with no release gets a post about one feature. Each one is a 1080 by 1350 still image built from your icon, colors and screenshots, with a caption written for Facebook.

This is the right page if your app is on the App Store and your Facebook Page still shows the launch post from last year. If you run a restaurant, a shop or a community group and want posts about anything at all, start with our list of AI social media post generators.

On the AI question: a language model shortens your release notes into two or three points and writes the caption. The image is laid out with typeset text and your actual screenshots. It is a Facebook post generator with AI in the writing and a fixed design system in the picture.

How It Works, From App Store Link to a Post on Your Facebook Page

You set it up once. From then on, a release is all it takes.

  1. Step 1

    Paste Your App Store Link

Start at the start page. Spreadcast reads the public listing only: icon, screenshots, version, release notes, rating and reviews. No SDK, no code and no access to your developer account. App Store only today.

  2. Step 2

    Connect a Facebook Page

Posts go to a Facebook Page. Meta's guide to Page posts is the interface outside tools use, and it requires that the person connecting can create content on that Page. If your app has no Page yet, make one in Facebook first and use the app icon as its profile picture.

  3. Step 3

    Spreadcast Watches the Listing

Every day it looks for a new version, a new 5 star review or a rating milestone such as 1,000 ratings or a 4.8 average. When it finds one, it designs the image and drafts the caption.

  4. Step 4

    Read the Draft

The caption opens with what changed, in plain words, followed by the points. Change the wording if you want a different tone. A post that quotes a reviewer waits for your approval every time.

  5. Step 5

    Approve First, or Full Autopilot

Choose whether every post waits for one tap from you or goes out without you.

  6. Step 6

It Publishes in the Next Free Slot

The post takes the next open slot on your calendar and goes out within minutes of that slot. You can drag it to another day. The same moment is posted to your other connected networks with a separate caption for each, as the social media content calendar page explains.

Facebook Post Size and Limits in October 2026

Meta publishes exact feed dimensions in its Ads Guide. Page posts appear in that same feed, so those are the numbers to design to.

Facebook Story, Reel and Page Image Sizes

A Page uses more shapes than the feed image. These are the ones you set once or make by hand, each taken from Meta's own page.

Facebook Posts Spreadcast Makes for Your App, With Example Captions

The examples are for an imaginary meal planning app called Family Table. Facebook captions can be fuller sentences than Instagram ones, and the App Store link can sit in the text of the post.

  • App Update Post

The image carries the version number, a New Update tag, two or three points and a screenshot. Example caption: "Family Table 2.6 is out. You can now plan two weeks at once, share the shopping list with the whole household, and swap a meal with one tap. Update on the App Store: (your App Store link)" See more wording in our app update announcement examples.

  • 5 Star Review Post

The reviewer's words in large type, with the five stars. It waits for your approval, because you need the reviewer's permission first. Example caption: "Reviews like this are why we keep building. Shared with the reviewer's permission. Family Table is on the App Store: (your App Store link)"

  • Rating Post

The current rating as one big number with the count of ratings under it. It shows no reviewer's words, so it can publish by itself. Example caption: "Family Table is rated 4.7 on the App Store, from 3,400 ratings. Thank you for cooking with us."

  • Rating Milestone Post

A thank you post when the listing passes a round number of ratings or reaches a high average. Example caption: "1,000 ratings on the App Store. When we started, the only testers were our own two kitchens. Thank you to every family that rated the app."

  • Feature Post for a Quiet Week

With no release to announce, Spreadcast drafts a post about one feature from your listing. Example caption: "Sunday evening, nothing planned. Open Family Table, pick five dinners, and the shopping list writes itself, sorted by aisle. On the App Store: (your App Store link)"

Facebook Captions, Links and Hashtags for an App Post

On Facebook the App Store link can sit in the caption itself, so nobody is sent to a profile to find it. Write a first sentence that states the change, add one or two on who it helps, and end with the link on its own line. Meta's 50 to 150 character guidance for ad text is a fair target for that first sentence.

Make it a campaign link. Apple's page on campaign links describes adding a campaign token to your App Store URL, a name of up to 30 characters such as fbpage, so App Store Connect reports the product page views and first time downloads that came through it. A campaign shows up after at least 24 hours and once it has downloads from at least 5 people.

Hashtags do less work here. Facebook's page on hashtags explains that a tag becomes a clickable link to a feed of posts with that tag, and it states no maximum. One or two that name the category are plenty on a Page post.

Here are three example captions for one release of the imaginary meal planning app Family Table. The announcement: "Family Table 2.6 is out today. Plan two weeks at once and share the shopping list with everyone at home. Update here: (your App Store link)" The one for people who do not have the app yet: "If Sunday night means staring into the fridge, Family Table plans five dinners and writes the shopping list for you. Version 2.6 adds two week plans. On the App Store: (your App Store link)" The request for advice: "We rebuilt the shopping list in 2.6. Tell us what still slows you down at the store and we will read every reply." The third asks for feedback on a real change, which is different from the engagement bait described further down.

How Far in Advance Can You Schedule Facebook Posts?

Up to 29 days ahead when you schedule in Facebook itself. Facebook's help page on scheduling Page posts says a post can be set to publish between 20 minutes and 29 days away. You switch to the Page, open Meta Business Suite from the left menu, click Create post, turn on Set date and time under Scheduling options and click Schedule. Times follow your current time zone, and anyone with Facebook access or task access to the Page can create and edit scheduled posts. Scheduled posts live in the Planner, where you can edit, reschedule, duplicate, move to drafts or delete them.

Outside tools work to a slightly different window. Meta's guide to Page posts, which is the interface tools such as Spreadcast use, accepts a publish time between 10 minutes and 30 days after the request. Spreadcast places each post in the next free slot on your calendar, so this limit rarely comes up.

Can you schedule Facebook posts in groups? Only from inside the group. Facebook's help page on scheduling group posts lets admins and moderators schedule a post once they start typing it, and lets admins set up recurring posts through Admin Assist. Outside tools lost the ability to post to groups when Meta removed it from its API for every version on April 22, 2024, as Meta's Graph API v19.0 changelog records. No scheduler, Spreadcast included, can post to a group for you.

Can you schedule Facebook posts on a personal account? The Page scheduling flow above is for Pages, and Meta's Page posts interface covers Pages only. That is why Spreadcast, like other tools, publishes to a Page you manage. Scheduling on Facebook with Spreadcast is part of Pro at $29 a month. The Free plan drafts each post for you to download and schedule in Business Suite yourself.

How to Post on a Facebook Page and Instagram at the Same Time

There are three ways, and they differ in how much each network's version can differ. In Meta Business Suite, Meta's guide to creating posts has you pick the Facebook Page and the Instagram profile under Post to, add the photos and then customize the text for each network before you publish or schedule. Meta notes a limit of 10 photos for the Instagram side.

From the Instagram app, Instagram's page on sharing posts to Facebook adds an Also share on option before you post, with a toggle next to your Facebook Page, and a setting in Accounts Center under Sharing across profiles that sends every future Instagram post to Facebook. It only works in the Instagram app for Android and iPhone. If an Instagram post is not sharing to your Facebook Page, check which account it is set to share to: Instagram's cross posting troubleshooting page explains that personal and creator profiles can share to a personal profile by mistake, while business profiles can only share to a Page.

Cross posting this way sends the same caption to both places, which rarely fits. On Instagram the link lives in your profile, which holds up to five websites, so app captions there end with link in bio, while a Facebook post can carry the App Store link in the text. Spreadcast publishes the same moment to your Page and your Instagram professional account with a separate caption for each, inside Instagram's limit of 5 hashtags. The Instagram post generator page covers the Instagram side.

How to Promote an App on Facebook Without Paying for Ads

Facebook is still the widest net. About seven in ten U.S. adults use it (71 percent), and adults aged 30 to 49 are the heaviest users at 80 percent, according to Pew Research Center's social media fact sheet, based on a 2025 survey of 5,022 adults. Among adults 65 and older the figure is 57 percent. More women use it than men, 78 percent against 63. If your app serves parents, households, hobbies or anyone past their twenties, the people you want are here. They also come back often: about half of U.S. adults say they visit Facebook at least once a day, per Pew's 2025 report on social media use. For every network side by side, see our social media statistics.

Still images suit this feed. In Buffer's 2026 analysis of over 45 million posts, images had the highest median engagement rate on Facebook at 5.2 percent, ahead of video at 4.84, text at 4.76 and link posts at 4.43. The gaps are small, and the one clear loser is the bare link. Rival IQ's 2025 benchmark report, built on over 4 million posts, found the same for Tech and Software brands, where photos were the most posted format on Facebook and earned strong engagement rates. That points to a simple habit: post the picture, and put the App Store link in the caption.

For a Page with a few hundred followers, most of whom already have the app, the useful posts are the ones that bring them back. Say what the new version changed in words a user would use. Release notes written in a hurry rarely read that way, which is why Spreadcast rewrites them and keeps only the points a person would notice. Our app release notes examples show the difference.

A Page is also where people look to see if an app is still maintained. A post about last week's version answers that before they ask. The wider plan, with every free channel, is in how to promote an app on social media and how to promote an app for free.

How the Facebook Feed Ranks a Page Post, According to Meta

Meta's system card for Facebook Feed, updated on October 6, 2026, describes four steps. The system gathers the posts from a person's friends, the Pages they follow and the groups they joined. It weighs signals about each post, and the examples Meta gives are who created it and how the person interacted with them before, whether it is a photo, a video or a link, and how many of the person's friends liked it. A light model cuts the pile to about 500 posts. Each gets a relevance score that sets the order, and a mix of post types is kept on purpose.

Meta's explanation of how Facebook distributes content, written for publishers, names the predictions behind that score: how likely a person is to comment, to spend time with the post and to find it informative, and how likely the post is to be clickbait or to link to a low quality webpage.

Two published numbers show what a Page is up against. In Meta's Widely Viewed Content Report for the second quarter of 2026, 14.8 percent of Feed views in the United States were posts people saw as a follower of a Page or public account, against 36.6 percent from sources they had no connection to. And 98.9 percent of views were of posts with no link to a site outside Facebook. The report describes what people saw and does not say that a link lowers reach. It is still a reason to let the image do the work, so the post is useful to someone who never taps.

Meta's posting tips for Pages are short. Post often, because rules that limit how much of one publisher a person sees keep new, good posts from flooding your followers. Post while the news is fresh, which for an app means the week the version ships. And Meta says no single time, number of posts or type of post works for every Page.

Facebook Post Size for Multiple Photos and the Carousels Spreadcast Makes

A Page post can carry several photos at once. Spreadcast uses that for carousels: on the Create page you describe the topic, such as three things that are new in this update, and it designs 3 to 8 slides at 1080 by 1350 in your app's brand, with a cover, real screenshots in an iPhone frame and a last slide that points to the App Store. On Pro it publishes them to your Page as one post with several photos and a caption written for Facebook. The same carousel can go to Instagram as a real swipeable carousel and to LinkedIn as a multi image post.

Keep every slide the same size, so the set looks like one piece in the feed, and put the slide that explains the release first, since it is the one people see before they tap. The 4:5 shape from the size table above works for each slide.

A carousel ad is a different, paid format with its own spec. Meta's Ads Guide for carousel ads in Facebook Feed asks for 2 to 10 cards, recommends a 1:1 ratio at 1080 by 1080 pixels or more, accepts images up to 30 MB, and recommends about 80 characters of primary text, 20 for the headline and 18 for the description, with a destination URL on each card. Spreadcast's slides can be downloaded and uploaded as ad cards, but the ad itself runs from your own ad account.

Facebook Page Post Boost Price: What Boosting Costs

Boosting turns a Page post into an ad. Meta's help page on boosting a post from your Page has you open Ads center, choose Boost Facebook content and pick the post, then set a goal, an audience, a duration and a daily budget, either one Meta recommends or your own. There is no fixed price: what you pay is the daily budget times the days you choose. You need Facebook access to the Page or task access to Ads.

One cost catches people out. The same page says that since February 2024 Apple may keep a service fee of 30 percent of the ad payment when you boost from the Facebook app on an iPhone or iPad, so boost from a computer if you can.

Spreadcast publishes organic posts and never boosts them. If one of its release posts does well, you can boost it from your Page like any other post.

How to Advertise an App on Facebook, and Why That Is a Separate Job

Promoting an app with Page posts is free and reaches people who already follow you. Advertising is the paid route to strangers, and Meta runs it through Ads Manager with app promotion campaigns. Meta's page on Advantage+ app campaigns describes the automated version, which sets bidding, audiences and placements for you.

There is setup first. Meta's app ads documentation tells you to register the app with Meta and connect it to your business manager and your ad account. The feed image spec is the one in the table above: 4:5 at 1440 by 1800 pixels, with 50 to 150 characters of primary text.

Ads and boosted posts run from your own ad account. What Spreadcast gives you is a steady supply of finished 4:5 images about real releases, which you can download and upload as ad creative yourself. The ad creative generator page covers that use.

Four Ways to Make Facebook Posts for an App, Compared

We make Spreadcast, so it is listed first. The other three routes are real options, and their prices come from each vendor's own page, as of October 2026.

A common pairing: Spreadcast for the recurring posts about releases, reviews and ratings, and Business Suite for replies and the occasional post by hand. The Buffer and Hootsuite comparisons go into detail.

Spreadcast vs a Chat Assistant or an AI Image Generator

A chat assistant will write a Facebook caption in seconds if you paste in your release notes, and an image model will draw a picture to go with it. For a single post, that is a fine way to work.

The gap shows on the fifth release. Someone has to notice the new version, open the assistant, paste the notes, ask for a caption, build an image that shows the real app, check that the rating is current, and publish. Spreadcast removes those steps because it reads the listing itself. The version number, the notes, the rating and the screenshots are already there, and the Page is already connected.

Keep the assistant for one off posts. It can write about a holiday sale, a hiring post or a poll, while Spreadcast runs the recurring posts about your app's updates, reviews, ratings and features. For other kinds of post, the social media caption generator page is a good starting point. You can also connect your assistant to Spreadcast through its MCP server, so Claude or ChatGPT can design Facebook posts in your app's brand, write the captions and schedule them there, with drafts only by default.

Common Mistakes on an App's Facebook Page

Most of these come from treating the Page like a second Instagram account.

  • Asking for Likes, Comments or Shares

A caption such as comment YES if you want dark mode is what Meta calls comment baiting. Meta's guidance on engagement bait lists react, comment, share and vote baiting, and says Pages that use them should expect less reach on those posts. Ask a real question about the app instead.

  • Posting a Bare Link

A link alone shows a 1.91:1 preview in place of your design, and link posts had the lowest median engagement on Facebook in Buffer's 2026 data. Post the image and put the link in the caption.

  • Copying the Instagram Caption

Link in bio means nothing on a Page, and a row of five category tags looks pasted. Spreadcast writes a separate caption for each network for this reason.

  • Connecting a Profile or a Group

Outside tools publish to a Page. If the app only has your personal profile behind it, make the Page first. Facebook's page on creating a Page says anyone with a Facebook account can create one.

  • Leaving the Page Without a Button

A visitor who likes what they see needs one tap to the App Store. Facebook's page on action buttons gives the path: open the Page, choose Options, then Add action button.

  • Waiting for the Perfect Time to Post

Meta's posting tips say no single time works for every Page. The week the version ships is the right time.

Your First Week: From App Store Link to the First Post on Your Page

Seven days for an app that has a listing and no Page, or a Page nobody has touched since launch.

  1. Step 1

Day 1: Create or Clean Up the Page

On Facebook, choose Pages, then Create Page, then Public Page, and enter the app's name and a category. Upload the app icon at 320 by 320 as the profile picture and an 851 by 315 cover, and add the action button.

  2. Step 2

Day 1: Paste Your App Store Link

Paste the link at the start page. Spreadcast reads the listing and builds the brand kit from the icon and screenshots. Fix a color or add the logo there, as the brand kit generator page describes.

  3. Step 3

Day 2: Connect the Page and Read the First Draft

Connect the Page with a Facebook login that can create content on it. With no new version yet, the first draft is a feature post built from one of your listing screenshots. Edit the caption and add your campaign link.

  4. Step 4

Day 3: The Post Publishes in Its Slot

The post goes out in the next free slot. As a starting point, Buffer's 2026 analysis of over 52 million posts found 9 a.m. on Thursday, local time, to be the best time to post on Facebook. Adjust once your own numbers come in.

  5. Step 5

Day 4: Share It Where You Already Have People

Share the Page post to your own timeline, and to a group where the app is welcome, by hand. A new Page has few followers, and Facebook's own setup steps include inviting friends to connect with the Page.

  6. Step 6

    Day 5 to 7: Ship a Version

When the next version is live, Spreadcast finds it on the daily check and drafts the update post with two or three points from the release notes. Reply to comments in Facebook or Business Suite, then choose between approve first and full autopilot.

What Stays With You on Facebook

Spreadcast designs and publishes image and carousel posts on your Page. These parts of Facebook stay in your hands.

  • Filming Video and Reels

Spreadcast designs still images and carousels, not video. Film the video yourself. You can attach it to a post in Spreadcast and it publishes it to your Page, while the designed posts cover each release in between.

  • Photo Albums

Spreadcast's carousels of 3 to 8 designed slides go to your Page as one post with several photos. An album of event or team photos is still yours to put together in Facebook.

  • Ads and Boosted Posts

Spreadcast publishes organic Page posts. Your ad account and your budget stay entirely with you.

  • Personal Profiles and Groups

Spreadcast publishes to a Page you manage. Share the Page post to your own timeline or a group by hand when it fits.

  • Comments

Replies to comments happen in Facebook or in Meta Business Suite, where the conversation already is.

  • Google Play

Spreadcast works from App Store listings today. Google Play is next on the list.

Rules for App Posts on Facebook: Reviews, Ratings and Branded Content

Apple's ratings and reviews page sets two conditions for App Store material in marketing. A rating has to reflect your app's current rating, and a customer review can be used only if the reviewer grants permission. Spreadcast reads the rating from the listing on the day of the post, and holds every quoted review until you approve it. The rest of Apple's rules, badges included, are on our App Store marketing guidelines page.

On Meta's side, the branded content policies cover posts by a creator or publisher that feature a business partner in exchange for value, and they require the branded content tool for those. Your own Page posting about your own app is outside that definition. If you pay a creator or a larger Page to post about the app, the tag is their obligation and worth confirming before the post goes up.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a free Facebook post generator for app developers?

Yes. Spreadcast has a Free plan for 1 app. It spots updates, reviews and milestones and designs each post for you to download, with a small Spreadcast mark, and you upload it to your Page yourself. Pro is $29 a month flat, with design, captions and publishing to 8 networks included. See the pricing page.

What is the best Facebook post size in 2026?

A 4:5 portrait. Meta's Ads Guide for Facebook Feed recommends 1440 by 1800 pixels with a minimum width of 600, as of October 2026. Spreadcast posts are 1080 by 1350, the same shape. For a bare link post, the preview image should be 1200 by 630.

Does this Facebook post generator use AI?

Yes, for the text. A language model turns your release notes into short points and a caption. The picture is a layout of your real icon, colors and screenshots with typeset text, so nothing in it is an AI generated image.

Can it post to my personal Facebook profile or to a group?

Spreadcast publishes to a Facebook Page that you can create content on. Personal timelines and groups stay with you: share the Page post there by hand.

How do I promote my app on Facebook for free?

Keep a Page for the app, post every release as an image with the App Store link in the caption, and share reviews once the reviewer agrees. Image posts had the highest median engagement on Facebook in Buffer's 2026 format data, and bare link posts the lowest.

How do I advertise an app on Facebook?

Through Meta Ads Manager, with an app promotion campaign. Meta's app ads documentation asks you to register the app with Meta and connect it to your business manager and ad account first. Spreadcast does not run ads. It can supply the 4:5 images.

Can I put my App Store link in a Facebook post?

Yes. A Page post takes a message and a link, per Meta's guide to Page posts, and the link can sit in the caption of an image post. That keeps your designed image as the main visual, where a bare link post would show a 1.91:1 preview instead.

Does the same post go to Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest?

The same moment does, with a caption written for each network. Read the Instagram post generator, LinkedIn post generator and Pinterest pin generator pages for the differences.
