Is Spreadcast an Ad Creative Generator? What It Makes and What You Add
Spreadcast makes the image, and you run the ad. You paste your App Store link once, and Spreadcast checks the public listing every day. A new version becomes an update announcement post, a new 5 star review or a rating milestone becomes a post, and in a week with no update it drafts a post about one of the app's features. Every post is a still image, 1080 by 1350 pixels, built from your icon, your colors and your own screenshots (the app's brand kit), with a caption for each of 8 networks. The product launch post generator page shows how an update becomes a post.
The overlap with advertising is specific. A 1080 by 1350 image is a 4:5 portrait, which is the ratio Meta recommends for feed image ads. You can download a post and upload it as the image in an ad you set up yourself. The rest of this page covers what each ad platform asks for, so you can judge the fit before you spend anything.
Spreadcast is built for the feed, and media buying stays in your ad accounts. Dozens of variants in landscape, square and story sizes, performance scores, video and a direct line into Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, TikTok Ads Manager or Apple Ads are the job of an ad creative tool, which the last section of this page covers.
What an Ad Creative Generator Is and What It Produces
An ad creative generator is software that produces the visible parts of an advertisement (the image or video, the headline and the body text) from a few inputs such as a logo, brand colors, product photos or a web address. Most also resize one idea into the shapes ad platforms ask for and turn out several variants, so there is something to test.
There are four kinds, and they are easy to confuse. Template editors such as Canva hand you a layout and you do the designing. AI ad creative generators such as AdCreative.ai build the layouts for you from a brand setup and rank them with a predicted score. Video generators such as Creatify turn a product link into a short video with an AI presenter. The fourth kind sits inside the ad platforms themselves and comes with the ad account.
Look at that fourth kind before you pay for anything. If you searched for a Facebook ad creative generator, the nearest one is already in Ads Manager: Meta's Advantage+ creative page describes tools that generate and enhance variations of an image, video or carousel ad while you set up the campaign, with previews you can switch off one by one. TikTok describes Symphony Creative Studio as a free tool that generates video clips, avatar voiceovers and dubbed versions. Google and Apple go further and assemble the finished ad themselves.
Spreadcast is a fifth thing. It makes organic posts for an app, one for each event on the App Store listing, and publishes them. It belongs on this page because of the shape of those posts: a 4:5 still image is also what a Meta feed ad asks for.
What App Ad Creative Is and Who Builds It on Each Platform
Ad creative is the part of an ad a person sees: the image or video, the headline and the text. For an app install ad the creative has one job, which is to get a tap through to your product page. What surprises most first time advertisers is how little of it you design on two of the four big platforms.
Apple builds the ad for you. Its ad placement options page lists four placements on the App Store (the Today tab, the Search tab, search results and product pages) and says ads are created from the metadata and assets you already uploaded in App Store Connect. Your "creative" on Apple Ads, which many developers still look for under the name Apple Search Ads, is your icon, your subtitle and your screenshots.
Google assembles the ad from parts. In an App campaign you supply text, images and video, and Google's overview of App campaigns says its system tests combinations of them, can also use assets from your store listing, and shows the results across Search, Google Play, YouTube, Discover and the Display Network.
Meta and TikTok are the two where you upload a finished piece. On Meta that can be a single still image. On TikTok it is video first, with image carousels as the still option. So "app ad creative" means four different deliverables, and an AI ad creative generator is mostly useful for the Meta and Google image slots.
App Install Ad Creative Specs for Meta, TikTok, Apple Ads and Google App Campaigns
Each row comes from the platform's own help page. The last column says whether a 1080 by 1350 Spreadcast post can be used there as it is.
| Placement | What the platform asks for | Text limits | Does a Spreadcast post fit? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Facebook feed image ad | JPG or PNG, 4:5 ratio, 1440 by 1800 pixels recommended, at least 600 pixels wide, 30 MB at most | Primary text 50 to 150 characters, headline 27 characters | Yes. Same 4:5 ratio. The image is smaller than the recommended resolution and above the minimum width. |
| Instagram feed image ad | JPG or PNG, 4:5 ratio, 1440 by 1800 pixels recommended, at least 500 pixels wide, 30 MB at most | Primary text 125 characters, headline 40 characters, up to 30 hashtags | Yes, on the same terms as the Facebook feed. |
| Instagram Stories image ad | 9:16 ratio, 1440 by 2560 pixels recommended. Meta asks you to keep about 14 percent at the top and 35 percent at the bottom free of text and logos. | The call to action sits over the bottom of the image | No. A 4:5 image does not fill a 9:16 screen, and the text is not placed for the safe zones. |
| Instagram Reels image ad | JPG or PNG, 9:16 ratio, 1440 by 2560 pixels recommended, at least 500 pixels wide, 30 MB at most, with the same clear areas as Stories | Primary text 44 characters | No. Reels is a full screen vertical placement. |
| Facebook feed carousel ad | 2 to 10 cards. Each card is a 1:1 image of at least 1080 by 1080 pixels (JPG or PNG, 30 MB at most) or a video. | Primary text 80 characters, headline 20, description 18 | No. The cards are square, and Spreadcast makes one portrait image per post. |
| TikTok in feed video ad | Video. 9:16 recommended at 540 by 960 pixels or more, with 1:1 and 16:9 also accepted. Up to 500 MB. | An ad caption. Links, @ mentions and hashtags in it are not supported. | No. Spreadcast does not make video. |
| TikTok Standard Carousel | 2 to 35 JPG or PNG images, of which up to 20 are shown, at 1200 by 628, 640 by 640 or 720 by 1280 pixels. Music is required. | One caption and one call to action for the whole carousel | No. 4:5 is not one of the listed sizes, and you would need several images and a music track. |
| Apple Ads | Nothing to upload for the default ad. Apple builds it from your product page. You can vary it with custom product pages, up to 70 of them, each with its own screenshots, promotional text and app previews. | Your app name and subtitle | No. The creative is your screenshots, and the top iPhone size is 1320 by 2868 pixels per Apple's screenshot specifications. |
| Google App campaign images | JPG or PNG up to 5 MB in three ratios: 1.91:1 (1200 by 628), 4:5 (1200 by 1500) and 1:1 (1200 by 1200). Up to 20 images per ratio. Videos of 10 to 60 seconds go in through YouTube. | Up to 5 headlines of 30 characters and 5 descriptions of 90 characters | The ratio fits, the content usually does not. Google's asset guidance recommends that overlaid text and logos cover less than 20 percent of an image, and Spreadcast posts carry a typeset headline. |
Specs read on October 11, 2026. Meta's guide was read for the app installs objective. Two Meta pages differ on the Instagram feed: the ads guide lists 4:5, while Meta's aspect ratio guidance recommends 1:1 for a single image there and 4:5 for the Facebook feed. Both shapes are accepted. Platforms change these numbers often, so open the linked page before you export.
Apple Ads Creative Assets: The New Images and Videos You Design Yourself
Apple now accepts ad creative you design yourself. Apple's help page on creative assets describes a new kind of image and video that you design, separate from your screenshots and app previews, uploaded in App Store Connect without a new app submission. Apple says they can appear in organic listings and will be available for Today tab and search results ads at a later date. Read on October 17, 2026.
| Requirement | Images | Videos |
|---|---|---|
| Ad placements | Today tab and search results | Search results only |
| Aspect ratio | 3:2 | 3:2 |
| Resolution | 1920 by 1280 pixels at least, 3840 by 2560 at most | 1920 by 1280 pixels at least, 3840 by 2560 at most |
| File types | JPEG or PNG | MP4, M4V or MOV |
| Length and frame rate | Not applicable | 5 to 30 seconds at 30 or 60 frames a second |
| Sound | Not applicable | Optional, and it does not play |
| Where you upload | App Store Connect, with text you can localize by country or region | App Store Connect |
| Link target | Your product page, or a custom product page through a deep link | The same |
A 1080 by 1350 Spreadcast post is 4:5, so it does not fit the 3:2 frame and is below the minimum resolution. The idea carries over: one feature, one real screen, one line of text. Build the 3:2 version in a design tool when Apple switches the placements on.

Facebook Ad Creative Size in Pixels for the Other Meta Image Placements
The feed, Instagram Stories, Reels and carousel sizes are in the specs table above. These are the remaining image placements an app install campaign can land in, each from Meta's own ads guide for the app installs objective, read on October 17, 2026.
| Placement | Ratio and pixels | Text limits | Does a Spreadcast post fit? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Facebook Stories | 9:16 at 1440 by 2560 recommended, at least 500 pixels wide, JPG or PNG up to 30 MB. Keep the top 14 percent, the bottom 35 percent and 6 percent on each side clear | Primary text 125 characters, headline 40 | No. Same reason as Instagram Stories: a 4:5 image does not fill the screen. |
| Facebook Marketplace | 1:1 at 1080 by 1080 or more, JPG or PNG up to 30 MB | Primary text 125 characters, headline 40, description 30 | No. The guide lists a square image only. |
| Facebook search results | 1.91:1 to 1:1, 1080 by 1080 recommended, at least 600 by 600, JPG or PNG up to 30 MB | Primary text 125 characters, headline 40, description 30 | No. 4:5 is taller than the tallest shape allowed here, so a square crop is needed. |
| Instagram Explore home | 4:5 at 1440 by 1800 recommended, at least 500 pixels wide, JPG or PNG up to 30 MB | Primary text 125 characters, headline 40, up to 30 hashtags | Yes. The same 4:5 shape as the Instagram feed. |
With Advantage+ placements switched on, Meta can show one ad in many of these slots. Supply a 4:5 image for the feeds and Explore, a 9:16 version for Stories and Reels and a 1:1 crop for Marketplace and search, and Meta picks the shape per slot.
What Makes an App Install Ad Creative Work, According to Meta, TikTok, Google and Apple
Each platform publishes its own advice for app advertisers. The four sets agree on more than they differ: show the app itself, make one point and make it early.
Meta: Say What the App Does and Show It on a Device
Meta's guide to mobile app ads lists the basics: describe what the app does, put visuals ahead of text, show the app on a device so people can picture using it, prove value with a key number, and use a call to action button that makes clear where the tap leads. Its best practices for image ads add a visible brand or logo, a tight crop on the important part, and overlay text in a clean, large, contrasting font. The same page notes there is no longer a limit on the amount of text in an ad image.
Meta: Advertise When There Is Something New
Meta's app guide calls new app content, such as a new feature, an ideal time to run an ad. That is the same moment Spreadcast turns into an update post, so the organic post and the ad can carry one message in the same week.
TikTok: Hook in Seconds, With Sound
TikTok's creative best practices ask for vertical 9:16 video at 720p or better with sound on, the proposition inside the first 3 seconds, the hook inside the first 6, and text overlays paced at 5 to 10 words a second. Its mobile app advertising guide is stricter, asking you to capture attention in under two seconds, and suggests creators who show the app in real use.
Google: Keep Images Clean and Lines Independent
Google's asset guidance recommends that overlaid text and logos cover less than 20 percent of an image, and says images with the word Download or Install superimposed are disapproved. For video it suggests winning attention in the first 2 to 3 seconds and adding captions, because some placements start with the sound off. Each text line should make sense alone, since Google combines them in any order.
Apple: Match the Product Page to the Search
For the default ad there is nothing to upload, so Apple's advice is about matching. Apple's best practices for ad variations suggest pairing each ad group's keyword theme with a custom product page whose screenshots show that feature. On its custom product pages page Apple reports a 2.5 percentage point average lift in conversion over the 1.6 percent average of default product pages.
All Four: One Message per Creative
None of the four asks you to fit more into the frame. A feed image gets a glance, a video gets two or three seconds, and a search results ad sits next to competitors. One promise plus the screen that proves it is the common ground, which is why a single feature post makes a sound first ad.
Ad Creative Testing: How Many Variants Each Platform Asks For
One image is enough to start an ad and too few to learn from. These are the volumes the platforms themselves recommend, and they are the real case for an ad creative tool.
| Platform | How many creatives | When to refresh | What it means for a small team |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organic posts | One per event: an update, a review, a milestone | When the listing changes, plus a feature post in a week with no update | Spreadcast designs these and publishes them for you |
| Meta Advantage+ app campaigns | Up to 50 images or videos, 5 primary texts and 5 headlines, and Meta recommends using the maximum (creative recommendations for Advantage+ app campaigns) | 2 to 4 times a month | The gap between one downloaded post and 50 assets is the gap ad tooling fills |
| TikTok | 3 to 5 different creatives per ad group and 3 to 5 ad groups per campaign | TikTok's mobile app guide suggests new videos every one to two weeks | Video only, so plan a shoot or a video tool |
| Google App campaigns | Up to 20 images and 20 videos, with up to 5 headlines and 5 descriptions | Swap out assets rated Low a few at a time, and hold off on changes until the first 100 conversions (App campaign best practices) | Text alone can start a campaign, since images and video are optional |
| Apple Ads | Up to 70 custom product pages, with one active custom ad per ad group (creating ad variations) | When a feature, season or event changes | Your screenshots are the variants today. Designed 3:2 creative assets are coming, see the Apple section above |

How to Use a Spreadcast Post as a Social Media Ad Creative on Meta
This is the one paid placement where a Spreadcast post drops in without rework. You run the ad in your own Meta ad account. Spreadcast is not involved after the download.
- Step 1
Choose a Post With One Message
An update post about a single feature, a rating post or a feature post you made with New Post all work. Skip anything with more than one idea on it. A feed ad gets less time than an organic post from someone who already follows you.
- Step 2
Download the Image
The Free plan gives you post drafts to download, each with a small Spreadcast mark. Pro, at $29 a month, makes clean posts. See pricing.
- Step 3
Check What the Image Claims
An ad runs for weeks. If the image shows your star rating, Apple's ratings and reviews page requires it to match your current rating for as long as the ad is live. If it quotes a review, you need the reviewer's permission. The testimonial post generator page explains both rules.
- Step 4
Upload It to a Feed Placement
Use it as the single image in a Facebook feed or Instagram feed ad. Meta recommends 1440 by 1800 pixels, so a 1080 by 1350 image is below the recommended resolution, and it is well above the minimum widths of 600 and 500 pixels.
- Step 5
Write New Ad Text
Do not paste the organic caption. Meta's guide suggests 50 to 150 characters of primary text and a 27 character headline in the Facebook feed, and 125 and 40 on Instagram. Say what the app does and what to do next.
- Step 6
Make a Separate Image for Stories
Instagram Stories ads are 9:16. A 4:5 image will not fill that screen, and Meta asks you to keep the top 14 percent and the bottom 35 percent clear of text. Build that version in a design tool, or leave the placement out.
Ad Creative Examples for an App: Five Image Ideas for a 4:5 Frame
These are layouts, written for this page with an invented hiking app called Trailmark. We have not run them as ads and make no claim about how they perform. Each one matches a kind of post Spreadcast already makes.
One Feature, One Screen
Headline: "Maps that work with no signal." Below it, the offline map screenshot at full width, and the app icon in a corner. One promise and the proof that it exists. This is the safest first ad for most apps.
The Problem in the Headline
Headline: "Lost signal on the trail?" Then the screenshot, then one line: "Trailmark keeps your route on your phone." It starts where the user is, which suits people who have never heard of you.
The Star Rating
"4.8" in large type, five stars, "on the App Store" and the icon. It borrows trust from other users in a second. Keep the number current, and name the country's store if you advertise in several.
The Review Quote
One sentence from a real review, five stars and a credit. Use it only with the reviewer's permission. In the United States, the FTC's questions and answers on its reviews rule say a review featured in marketing becomes a testimonial, so it has to be real and unaltered in meaning.
The Update
"New in 3.2: offline maps." with the new screen. This one is aimed at people who installed the app and drifted away, so it belongs in a campaign that targets existing users.
Ad Copy Examples for an App, Written to Each Platform's Limits
The image is half the creative. These lines are written for Trailmark, the invented hiking app, and each one sits inside the limit its platform publishes. Character counts include spaces.
| Where it goes | Limit | Example | Characters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Facebook feed, primary text | 50 to 150 | Trailmark saves your route to your phone before you leave, so the map still works when the signal drops. Free to download. | 122 |
| Facebook feed, headline | 27 | Offline maps for every hike | 27 |
| Instagram feed, primary text | 125 | Lost signal on the trail? Trailmark keeps your route on your phone. Download the map before you go. | 99 |
| Instagram feed, headline | 40 | Hiking maps that work with no signal | 36 |
| Instagram Reels image ad, primary text | 44 | Your trail map, with or without signal. | 39 |
| Facebook feed carousel, headline | 20 | Maps with no signal | 19 |
| Google App campaign, headlines | 30 each, up to 5 | Offline Trail Maps. Hike With No Signal. Save Any Route to Your Phone | 18, 19 and 28 |
| Google App campaign, description | 90 each, up to 5 | Download any trail before you leave and follow it with your phone in airplane mode. | 83 |
| Apple Ads, through the app subtitle | 30, per Apple's product page guidance | Offline maps for hikers | 23 |
Examples only. Trailmark is not a real app and none of these lines has run in a campaign. The Google headlines each stand alone, because Google mixes them.
Common App Ad Creative Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
Three ways small teams lose a week, each traced to what the platform says.
Putting the Word Download on the Image
Google disapproves App campaign images that have Download or Install superimposed on them, per the asset guidance linked above. Let the platform's own button carry the call to action, and keep the image for the app.
Designing Ad Files for Apple Ads
The default Apple ad has no upload, and the designed creative assets Apple has announced are 3:2 and not yet live in ads. Until they are, an afternoon spent on an ad image is better spent on the first screenshots of your product page, then on a custom product page for each keyword theme. The App Store screenshot sizes guide has the dimensions.
Editing a Campaign While It Learns
Meta's best practices for Advantage+ app campaigns advise against changes during the learning phase, and Google suggests waiting for the first 100 conversions. Swap creative in batches on a schedule, and judge each batch on installs.
Organic Posts vs Paid Ads for an App: When Each Makes Sense
They do different jobs. Organic posts cost time and keep your accounts alive between releases. Paid ads cost money and buy reach you do not have yet. Most small app teams need the first before the second.
| Your situation | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You have no ad budget | Organic posts | Every release, review and milestone is free material. The work is making the posts, which is the part Spreadcast automates. See how to promote an app for free. |
| Your accounts have been silent since launch | Organic posts | An ad sends some people to your profile. A feed with one post from last year undoes the ad. In Buffer's consistency study from January 2025, accounts that posted in 20 or more of 26 weeks had about five times the median engagement per post of those that posted in four or fewer. |
| Your App Store screenshots are weak | The product page | Organic links and paid taps land on the same page, and Apple Ads are built from it. Fix it first with the guide to App Store screenshot sizes. |
| You need installs this month and can pay for each one | Paid ads | Apple Ads needs no new creative for its default ad, because it uses your product page. Meta needs one 4:5 image to begin. |
| You want to learn which message gets installs | Paid ads with many variants | Testing needs volume. Google's asset guidance recommends uploading the maximum of 20 images and 20 videos. That is a job for ad tooling. |
| You ship an update every week or two | Organic posts | Regular releases give you a steady reason to post. Each one becomes an update post without anyone opening a design tool. |
A sensible order for a small team: get the product page right, post every release for a few months, then put money behind the message that drew the most response.
Best Free AI Ad Creative Generator Options and What Each One Includes
Most searches for a free AI ad creative generator end at a trial. These are the options that cost nothing to try, with what the free part really covers. We make Spreadcast, so it comes first, and it is the only one built from an App Store listing. Each other row comes from the vendor's own page, read on October 17, 2026.
| Tool | What is free | What it makes | Good to know for an app |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spreadcast | The Free plan, with no time limit, for 1 app | A designed 4:5 post for every update, 5 star review and rating milestone, ready to download with a small Spreadcast mark | Built from your icon, colors and screenshots. The same image works as a Meta feed ad |
| Meta Advantage+ creative | Comes with Ads Manager, so you pay only for the ads | Generated variations of your image, video or carousel ads, which you can preview and switch off one by one | Check every variation for invented details before it runs |
| TikTok Symphony Creative Studio | TikTok calls it a free creation tool | Video clips, images from text prompts, avatar voiceovers and dubbed versions | Its product avatar can hold up or show an app screen you upload, which suits an app better than most ad tools |
| Google Ads Asset Studio | Found under Tools in Google Ads. The help page lists no separate price | Product imagery from one or two photos, an AI image editor, a video builder and voiceovers | Generated projects are kept for 55 days, so save the assets you want to reuse |
| Creatify | A free plan with 10 credits a month | Up to 2 video ads or 20 image ads, with a watermark on exports | Video first, with AI actors |
| Pencil | Six ads in a guided setup | Static and video ad ideas from your brand assets | After the six, Core is $14 a month |
| AdCreative.ai | A 7 day trial with 10 credits and Pro access | Ad banners, copy and video, with scoring | A trial, not a free plan. The card is charged when the 7 days end |
The ad platform tools cost nothing extra, but they only run inside a paid campaign. Spreadcast's Free plan is the one here that is useful with no ad budget at all, because its posts also go on your own profiles.
Five Ways to Make App Ad Creative, Compared
Spreadcast is ours and comes first, for the part of the job it does: the feed image and the organic posts around it. The other four cover the rest.
| Way | What you get | What it costs | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spreadcast | Spreadcast designs a 4:5 post for each update, review and milestone from your App Store listing and publishes it to 8 networks. You can download any post and use it as a Meta feed image | The Free plan drafts every post. Pro is $29 a month flat, with design, captions and publishing included | An app team that wants its feed kept alive and a clean feed ad image without opening an editor |
| The ad platforms' own tools | Meta's Advantage+ creative makes variations inside Ads Manager, TikTok's Symphony Creative Studio generates video, and Google and Apple assemble the ad for you | No extra fee on top of the ad spend | Anyone already running campaigns. Try these before paying for a third tool |
| By hand in an editor | Control of every pixel in every size. You design, export and upload each one | Canva Pro is $18 a month in the US, plus your time on each creative | Teams with a designer, and placements with strict layouts such as Stories |
| A chat assistant | Useful for the words: headlines and primary text written to a character limit. Check any generated image closely, because an invented screenshot is not your app | Whatever you already pay for the assistant | Drafting ad copy to test |
| An AI ad creative generator | Many variants in every size, a predicted score on each, and a push into the ad account | AdCreative.ai starts at $39 a month on monthly billing for 20 downloads, with creative scoring from the $249 Professional plan (AdCreative.ai's plan table) | Teams whose main channel is paid acquisition, with budget to test |

Your First Week: From an App Store Link to a Published Post and a First Ad Image
A realistic first week for a team of one or two. Only the last step needs an ad account.
- Step 1
Day 1: Paste Your App Store Link
Go to the start page and paste the link. Spreadcast reads the icon, the screenshots and the colors from the public listing, with no SDK and no access to your developer account. Then open the brand kit screen and confirm the logo, colors and screenshots are the ones you want on posts.
- Step 2
Day 2: Make One Post by Hand
Use New Post to make a single post about your strongest feature while you wait for the listing to change. Keep it to one promise and one screenshot.
- Step 3
Day 3: Connect Your Networks
On Pro, connect the accounts you post on: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord or YouTube. Start on approve first, so every post waits for one tap.
- Step 4
Day 4: Publish
Approve the feature post. It takes the next free slot on the calendar and goes out within minutes of that slot, with a caption written for each network.
- Step 5
Day 5: Reuse the Image as a Feed Ad, If You Advertise
Download the same post and upload it as the single image in a Facebook or Instagram feed ad, with new ad text inside Meta's limits. The Meta steps earlier on this page cover the checks.
- Step 6
After That: Your Listing Sets the Schedule
From here the triggers are your releases, 5 star reviews and rating milestones. Each one becomes a post without anyone opening a design tool, and in a week with no update Spreadcast drafts a feature post.
When to Add an AI Ad Creative Generator Beside Spreadcast
If paid acquisition is your main channel, use a tool made for it. You need the same idea in landscape, square, portrait and story sizes, ten or twenty variants per ad group, and a direct line into the ad account so nobody uploads files by hand.
AdCreative.ai is one tool of that kind. Its ad creatives page says it generates creatives in the sizes each channel requires, gives each one a predicted performance score, and lets you connect ad accounts to push creatives to Meta, Google and LinkedIn. The score is the vendor's own prediction, so treat it as a starting point and let your campaign results decide.
For app promotion banner design, use a design tool or an ad creative tool. A banner is a wide image, usually the 1.91:1 shape that Google lists at 1200 by 628 pixels, and Spreadcast makes portrait posts.
The full comparison, with prices and who each tool suits, is on the AdCreative.ai alternative page, and the wider plan is in how to market an app. Plenty of app teams run both kinds of tool: one for the ads they pay for, and Spreadcast for the feed those ads point back to.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is ad creative?
Ad creative is everything a person sees in an ad: the image or video, the headline, the body text and the button. For an app, the creative's job is to earn a tap to the product page, where the screenshots and rating have to do the rest.
What does an AI ad creative generator do?
It takes your brand assets and a short brief and produces many versions of an ad image or video in the sizes ad platforms need. Some also score the versions and upload them to your ad account. Spreadcast does a different job: it designs and publishes organic posts for an app from its App Store listing, and each post is a 4:5 image you can also upload as a feed ad.
What size is an app install ad creative?
It depends on the placement. Meta recommends 4:5 at 1440 by 1800 pixels for feed image ads and 9:16 at 1440 by 2560 for Stories. Google App campaigns accept 1.91:1, 4:5 and 1:1 images. TikTok is built around 9:16 video. Apple Ads uses your App Store screenshots. The table above links each platform's page, starting with Meta's feed image guide.
Can I use an organic post as an ad?
Yes, if the size and content suit the placement. A Spreadcast post is a 4:5 still image, so it fits Facebook and Instagram feed image ads. For Stories, TikTok video and Google App campaigns, make a separate creative. Apple Ads builds its own from your product page.
Does Spreadcast connect to Meta or Google ad accounts?
Spreadcast connects to your social accounts and publishes organic posts on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram and Discord, plus YouTube for video posts. Your ad accounts stay separate: you download a post and upload it in the ad platform yourself, and the spend and the reporting stay there.
How do Apple Search Ads creatives work?
For the default ad you do not upload one. Apple creates it from the name, icon, subtitle and screenshots already on your product page, per its ad placement options page. To show different screenshots to different audiences, set up custom product pages and use them as ad variations. Apple has also added creative assets, 3:2 images and videos you design and upload in App Store Connect, which it says will reach Today tab and search results ads at a later date.
Is there a free ad creative generator for apps?
Spreadcast's Free plan costs $0 for 1 app and designs every post for you to download, each with a small Spreadcast mark. That is a free way to get a 4:5 image built from your own listing, in the ratio Meta recommends for feed image ads. The ad platforms include free tools of their own, such as Advantage+ creative in Meta Ads Manager. For scoring and many sizes, add an ad creative tool.
