Metricool MCP: The Claude and ChatGPT Connectors, Tools, Limits and Setup

The Metricool MCP lets Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants read your analytics, size up competitors and schedule posts in Metricool, on every plan including Free. Here is each tool, the setup, the limits, and when Spreadcast suits an app maker better.

Free to start · No credit card · No manual posting

What the Metricool MCP Is

The Metricool MCP is a remote server, run by Metricool at the address ai.metricool.com/mcp, that lets an AI assistant work inside your Metricool account. Once it is connected you can ask Claude or ChatGPT, in ordinary sentences, which Reel did best last month, how your engagement compares with three competitors, or to put a post on Instagram and LinkedIn at the best hour for each. Metricool's MCP page presents it as a way to read analytics, plan posts and check rivals from one chat instead of opening the dashboard.

It has two front doors. On September 10, 2026, Metricool published a press release, Metricool launches official connectors for Claude and ChatGPT, saying it is now listed as an official connector in both assistants and that every Metricool user, free accounts included, can use them. Behind both connectors sits the same MCP server, which Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, n8n, Make, Zapier and other clients reach directly by its address.

MCP is short for Model Context Protocol. The official MCP introduction describes it as an open standard for linking AI applications to outside systems, so one server works in many assistants instead of needing a separate plugin for each. In practice the assistant does the thinking and the talking, and Metricool supplies the data and does the scheduling. The server can only reach what your Metricool account already holds: the brands, networks, numbers and calendar you set up there.

Its strength is reading. Most of its tools pull numbers and past posts out of Metricool, and that is where it beats most other social media servers. It adds no design studio and knows nothing about your product beyond what your accounts have posted, which the sections below come back to. Metricool MCP Tools: What Each One Does

Metricool's MCP page lists 28 tools and says the list changes as the server is updated. Here they are grouped by job, in plain words, with the tool names for anyone who wants to check. One caution: Metricool's scheduling help article calls the writing tools create_scheduled_post and update_scheduled_post, while the MCP page calls them post_schedule_post and update_schedule_post, so the exact names you see in your client may differ.

  • Brands: Which Accounts the Assistant Can Work On

The get_brands tool lists the brands in your Metricool account, so the assistant can ask which one you mean. A brand in Metricool is one set of connected social profiles, usually one client or one product. Every other tool works on a single brand at a time.

  • Analytics: Available Metrics and the Numbers Behind Them

Two tools work together. The get_metrics tool asks which metrics exist for a given network, and get_analytics fetches the values for a date range. This is how the assistant answers questions about followers, reach, engagement and growth with your real figures instead of guesses.

  • Past Posts on Each Network

Fifteen tools fetch the posts you already published, one network and format at a time: Instagram posts, Reels and Stories, TikTok videos, Facebook posts, Reels and Stories, LinkedIn posts, X posts, YouTube videos, Pinterest pins, Threads posts, Bluesky posts and Twitch videos. A separate tool reads your Pinterest boards. Each takes a start date, an end date and a brand.

  • Best Time to Post

The get_best_time_to_post tool returns days and hours scored for one network, where a higher value means a better slot. It is built from your own account's history, which is why it is one of the most useful tools on the list: the assistant can pick a time for each network instead of using one generic hour.

  • Scheduling: Create, Read and Edit Planned Posts

One tool schedules a post, or a multipost to several networks and brands at once. Another lists what is already scheduled, and a third changes the text, date or network of a planned post, in the same chat or later. The help article adds that each answer carries a direct link to the post in Metricool's planner.

  • Ad Campaigns, to Read Only

Three tools fetch campaigns from Meta Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads for a date range. They read results. Metricool's limits article says managing ad campaigns, the Ads tab, is not available through the MCP, so the assistant can report on a campaign but not change its budget or pause it.

  • Competitors: Who They Are and What They Post

The get_network_competitors tool lists the competitors you added in Metricool, and get_network_competitors_posts fetches and analyzes their posts. Metricool's Python package description names the networks for these two tools: Instagram, Facebook, X, Bluesky, YouTube and Twitch.

Which Networks the Metricool MCP Server Covers

Metricool's MCP FAQ counts thirteen networks and ad platforms. The second column comes from the tool list on Metricool's MCP page, and the third from the Metricool pricing page, which leaves two networks out of the free plan.

Is Metricool MCP Free? Metricool MCP Pricing by Plan

Yes. Metricool's limits article says the MCP works on any plan, Free included, and the pricing page lists Metricool MCP inside the free plan, with no separate fee. What changes by plan is everything the MCP acts on: brands, posts per month, how far back the numbers go and which networks you can connect. Prices below are in US dollars, before VAT.

Is Metricool MCP Free? Metricool MCP Pricing by Plan
PlanPriceWhat it allowsWhat it means for the MCP

CustomPriced on requestAny number of brands, white label, a dedicated account managerSame as Advanced

The pricing page also gives the AI social media assistant inside Metricool 5 credits per brand a month on Free, 20 on Starter and 35 on Advanced. Those credits are for Metricool's own writer, not for MCP calls; your Claude or ChatGPT plan is separate.

What the Free Plan Limits Mean in a Real Session

Metricool's limits article is plain about one thing: connecting an assistant does not lift any plan limit. An action through Claude or ChatGPT counts exactly like the same action in the Metricool app. The article adds that when an action fails or the data looks thin, the plan limit is the first thing to check, before you suspect the connection.

Here is a worked example with round numbers. Alex runs a small brand on Metricool Free with Instagram, TikTok and Threads connected. On the first of the month Alex asks Claude to plan a week: one post a day on each of the three networks. That is 21 posts, and the free plan allows 20 a month, so the last one fails, and there is nothing left for the rest of the month. A single multipost to three networks may count as one post or as three; Metricool's pages do not say, so plan as if each network counts.

The analytics window matters as much. Free keeps 30 days of numbers. A question such as which month this year had the best engagement has no answer on Free, because the older months are not stored. The assistant will either say so or answer from the 30 days it can see, and it is worth asking which one it did.

LinkedIn is the other trap. A free account cannot connect LinkedIn at all, so an assistant asked to post there will find no LinkedIn profile on the brand. For a LinkedIn workflow through the Metricool MCP the realistic floor is Starter.

How to Connect the Metricool Claude Connector in Claude.ai and Claude Desktop

These steps follow Metricool's Claude guide, read on October 17, 2026, with plan details from Anthropic's guide to custom connectors. Metricool is listed in Claude's connector directory, so you sign in with Metricool and need no API key. One connection covers Claude on the web and the desktop app.

  1. Step 1

    Open Connectors in Claude

In Claude on the web or in the desktop app, open Settings and then Connectors. Click Add, then Browse connectors. Menu names in Claude move from time to time; Anthropic's guide currently describes the same area under Customize, Connectors.

  2. Step 2

    Find Metricool in the Directory

Search for Metricool and click the plus button next to it, or open Metricool's listing in the directory and click Connect to Claude. Metricool's own pages link to that listing directly.

  3. Step 3

    Grant Access in Metricool

A Metricool window opens. Sign in if asked, read the permissions and click Grant access. Metricool's guide warns that this screen describes broader access than the MCP actually uses, so do not read it as a list of features.

  4. Step 4

Check That It Shows as Connected

Back in Claude, Metricool should appear as connected. Start a chat, open the connector menu from the plus button and make sure Metricool is switched on for that conversation. Begin with a request that only reads, such as listing your brands.

  5. Step 5

    Approve Tools That Write

The first time Claude wants to schedule or edit a post, it asks before it runs the tool. Anthropic's guide suggests choosing Allow always only for tools you trust and switching off tools you do not want Claude to call, which matters most during Research, when Claude can call connector tools without asking again.

  6. Step 6

    Mind the Claude Free Limit

Metricool's guide says Claude's Free plan can use only one connector at a time, and Anthropic's guide limits Free users to one custom connector. If Claude says a connector is already in use, disconnect the other one first. The one connector limit applies to the Free plan.

Metricool MCP for Claude Code and the Claude Desktop Fallback

Claude Code connects separately, from the terminal. These steps also follow Metricool's Claude guide, and the fallback comes from Metricool's troubleshooting article.

  1. Step 1

    Check Your Claude Plan

Metricool's guide says Claude Code needs a Claude Pro or Max subscription and Claude Code installed from its product page. The Metricool plan can be Free.

  2. Step 2

Add the Server With One Command

In a terminal, run claude mcp add with the http transport, the name metricool and the address ai.metricool.com/mcp, starting with https. Metricool's guide prints the full command.

  3. Step 3

    Authenticate From Inside Claude Code

Start Claude Code, type /mcp, pick Metricool and choose Authenticate. A browser tab opens. Click Grant access, then return to the terminal. Running /mcp again should show Metricool as connected.

  4. Step 4

If the Desktop Directory Does Not Work, Use the Config File

Metricool keeps a manual route for Claude Desktop when the directory listing is missing in your region or plan, or the sign in never finishes. Open Settings, Developer, and click Edit config under Local MCP servers. Add the small entry Metricool's guide gives, which runs a bridge package through npx and points it at the Metricool address, then save and restart Claude Desktop.

  5. Step 5

Sign In Through the Browser, or Use an API Key

With the default entry, Claude Desktop opens a browser sign in after the restart. The guide also shows a version that sends your Metricool API key in a header instead, which skips the browser step. The API key comes from the Metricool API, and Metricool's limits article ties token based connections to the Advanced plan.

Metricool's Walkthrough of Metricool in ChatGPT

Metricool ChatGPT Connector: How to Connect Metricool to ChatGPT

Metricool's steps come from Metricool's ChatGPT guide. ChatGPT renames its menus often, and OpenAI's article on connected apps is the place to check the current ones. There are two routes, and they are not equal.

  1. Step 1

Route One: The Metricool App in ChatGPT

On ChatGPT on the web, open the apps area and search for Metricool, or open the Metricool for Social Media page on chatgpt.com. Metricool's guide calls it Apps in the left sidebar. OpenAI's article now calls the same place Settings, Plugins, and says older app versions still show Apps.

  2. Step 2

    Connect and Grant Access

Click Connect, choose Sign in with Metricool for Social Media, and approve the permissions on Metricool's page with Grant access. Metricool is then available in your chats. Mention it with the at sign, or pick it from the plus menu, for the message where you need it.

  3. Step 3

Know What the App Version Leaves Out

Metricool's scheduling article says the app inside ChatGPT runs an earlier version of the MCP, so it does not return the direct link to each scheduled post that Claude and other clients get. Metricool's guide gives no list of ChatGPT plans that include the app, and OpenAI says app availability depends on your plan, region, workspace and role.

  4. Step 4

Route Two: The Server Address as a Custom MCP Server

Metricool says users with a paid Metricool plan can add ai.metricool.com/mcp to ChatGPT by hand for the full feature set. OpenAI's article on custom MCP servers decides who can do that: full MCP with actions that change data is for Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces on the web, where admins and owners add the server, and Pro users can connect custom servers with read and fetch permissions only.

  5. Step 5

    Confirm Actions When ChatGPT Asks

For anything that writes, such as scheduling a post, ChatGPT may ask you to confirm depending on the app's permissions and the action. OpenAI's article also says custom servers cannot be connected on mobile, so set this up on the web.

The Metricool MCP Link in Cursor, Gemini CLI, n8n and Other Clients

Every client uses the same address, ai.metricool.com/mcp, starting with https. How each one signs in comes from Metricool's connection guide and its FAQ, which lists eleven documented clients. Most use OAuth: a browser sign in with a Grant access button and nothing to copy.

Codex and other clients are not covered by Metricool's guides. A client that can add a remote server with OAuth should use the same address, but Metricool gives no steps for it.

Competitor Analysis Through the Metricool MCP

Competitor analysis is the part of the Metricool MCP that few other social media servers have. Metricool lets you add rival profiles to a brand, and two tools expose them: one lists the competitors you added, the other fetches and analyzes their posts. Metricool's MCP basics article describes what that allows: comparing growth, engagement and posting frequency, and asking for strategy suggestions from the result.

The size of the field depends on the plan. The pricing page gives Free 5 competitor profiles and Starter up to 100. Metricool's Python package description names the networks the competitor tools cover: Instagram, Facebook, X, Bluesky, YouTube and Twitch. TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Threads are not on that list, so a question about a rival's TikTok will not get Metricool data.

A useful request is narrow and dated. Metricool's guide to social media management with Claude, published on September 4, 2026, gives the shape: compare my engagement rate with my three main competitors on Instagram over the last 30 days. Asking for a period inside your plan's history, on a network the tools cover, avoids most empty answers.

Treat the conclusions as a starting point. The assistant sees posts and public numbers, not why a rival's post worked, and a sample of a few weeks can mislead. The data is the valuable part; check the story the assistant tells about it.

Scheduling, Review and Carousels in the Metricool MCP

Posts made through the MCP go into Metricool's Planner, not straight to the network. Metricool's Claude guide explains that Claude hands the post to Metricool, which then publishes it on time or, for formats it cannot publish on its own such as some Instagram Stories, prompts you to finish it by hand. Metricool's MCP page lists three timing choices: publish now, a date and time you pick, or the best time from your own data.

There is no separate draft mode in the tool list. A scheduled post is live on the calendar and will publish at its time unless you change it. Metricool's scheduling article suggests opening the direct link in each answer to check the post, its attachments and its formatting in the Planner before it goes out, and notes that some formatting or attachment changes may still need the Planner itself.

Review is the safer path. Metricool's limits article lists creating posts for review and sending them for review among the MCP's Planner actions. A post sent for review waits for approval and, per Metricool's approval system article, a rejection always stops it from publishing, and editing it resets the review. That same article puts the approval system on the Advanced and Custom plans, and the MCP articles do not say whether review requests work below Advanced, so expect the plan rule to apply.

Carousels work when the images exist. Metricool's own Claude video schedules a carousel to Instagram and LinkedIn with the images already attached, and its Claude guide says videos can come from a link or an uploaded file. No tool in the list makes an image. The pictures come from you, a design tool, or whatever your assistant can produce on its own, and Metricool's limits article says Canva and Google Drive files are out of the MCP's reach, even though Metricool's own planner connects to both on Starter and above.

What the Metricool MCP Cannot Do

Metricool's limits article lists what is out of reach today, and the tool list confirms the rest. Plan around these before you build a habit on the connector.

  • No Inbox Messages or Comments

The assistant cannot read or answer direct messages or post comments. Metricool's guide mentions drafting replies with Claude, but that means pasting the comments into the chat yourself. Reading inbox comments by machine is an API feature on Advanced.

  • No Ad Campaign Changes

It reads campaign results from Meta Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads but cannot create, pause or edit a campaign.

  • No Smartlinks, Autolists or Business Profile Reviews

Metricool's link in bio pages, its recurring autolists and Google Business Profile reviews all stay in the Metricool app.

  • No Canva or Google Drive Files

The planner's Canva and Drive imports are not available through the MCP, so media has to reach the post another way.

  • No Image or Video Design

There is no tool that designs a post picture, a carousel slide or a video. The MCP attaches and schedules media that already exists.

  • No Way Around the Plan

Free accounts stop at 20 scheduled posts a month and 30 days of numbers, and the MCP cannot reach a network the plan does not include.

Metricool AI Assistant vs the Metricool MCP

People searching for the Metricool AI assistant and the Metricool MCP often mean different things, and the two sit on opposite sides. The Metricool AI social media post generator is built into Metricool's planner. You pick a topic, a tone and a network, and it writes the post, adapts the text for each network, writes calls to action, changes the length, translates and proofreads, and suggests hashtags for TikTok and Instagram. The page describes text only, with no image generation.

It runs on credits. The pricing page gives 5 credits per brand a month on Free, 20 on Starter and 35 on Advanced, with custom amounts on Custom. So is Metricool an AI tool? Partly: it is a scheduling and analytics tool with an AI writer inside it.

The MCP is the reverse direction. Your own assistant, Claude or ChatGPT, does the writing and the reasoning in its own window, with the model you already pay for, and uses the MCP to read your Metricool data and put the result on your calendar. It does not spend Metricool's AI credits, and it can write as much as your assistant plan allows.

Neither makes the picture. If writing is the slow part, either helps. If the slow part is the image, or knowing what to post about in the first place, something else has to sit in the chain.

Metricool MCP vs the Metricool API, and the Code on GitHub

Metricool keeps the two apart. Metricool's article on MCP and API access describes the MCP as a connector for plain language requests in AI clients, open on every plan, and the API as a programmatic interface for HTTP requests from tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier or Postman, open only on Advanced and Custom. API calls carry an access token in a header, plus your user ID and brand ID on every call, and the API can export data the MCP cannot reach, such as inbox comments.

That split explains a pattern in the setup guides. Sign in by OAuth and you are on the MCP, which works on Free. Paste a token or an API key, as the n8n route, the Claude Desktop key variant and TypingMind's token option do, and you are on the API, which needs Advanced. If a guide you found online starts by asking for your user token and user ID, it predates the hosted server or targets the API route.

On the code side, Metricool's MCP FAQ says the server is open source in a public GitHub repository and published as a Python package. The mcp metricool package on PyPI lists Metricool staff as its maintainers and describes a local setup that runs through uv with your Metricool token and user ID, and a requirement of API access on the Advanced tier. Most people no longer need it: the hosted server at ai.metricool.com/mcp does the same work after a browser sign in. Several unofficial Metricool MCP projects also exist on GitHub; a server that asks for your Metricool password rather than a Metricool sign in or a token is not Metricool's.

I Can't Connect to Metricool MCP: The Common Fixes

Metricool's troubleshooting article covers seven cases. The first check is always the address: ai.metricool.com/mcp exactly, starting with https, with no extra path, space or different host. The second is the method, since each client has its own: OAuth by address, a header token, a terminal command, or the desktop config file.

When a client never finishes connecting, the sign in usually stopped halfway. Finish the browser step and click Grant access. In Cursor, click Connect after installing, because the server shows as unauthenticated until you do. In Gemini CLI, run /mcp auth metricool. In Claude Code, run /mcp, choose Metricool and authenticate. If Claude Code rejects the add command, check that it is installed and that your Claude plan is Pro or Max.

If Claude Free refuses to add Metricool, another connector already uses the single free slot; remove it and try again. If Cursor shows no install flow, you are probably in a browser rather than the desktop app. If n8n fails, check that the credential uses Header Auth with your API key from Account Settings, API.

The last case is the one people misread most: the connection works but an action fails or the data looks short. Metricool says that is usually a plan limit, not a broken connection, such as the 20 post monthly cap or the 30 day analytics window on Free.

Security and Revoking Access

Metricool's MCP page says the MCP uses the same permissions and sign in system as your Metricool account, and that your data is not stored in the AI model. That is the vendor's claim about its own side. What the assistant does with the data in your chat is governed by your assistant's own settings and plan, so read those too.

Revoking needs care, because Metricool's pages differ. The MCP page says you can revoke access at any time from your settings, while the troubleshooting article says to remove the connector in the AI client where you authorized it, because access cannot be revoked from inside Metricool. The safe habit is to remove it in the client: in Claude, open Settings, Connectors, the menu next to Metricool and Disconnect.

The permissions screen deserves a careful read for a different reason. Metricool's guides say it describes broader access than the MCP actually uses. The tool list, not the consent screen, is the real map of what an assistant can do.

Keep your client's approval prompt on for scheduling and editing. Every write goes onto a live calendar, a publish now request goes out at once, and on plans without the approval system there is no review step between the assistant and your audience.

Spreadcast: A Metricool MCP Alternative for App Makers

Spreadcast is a social media tool for people who make apps on the App Store, and it runs its own MCP server at spreadcast.app/api/mcp. Where Metricool's server reads numbers and puts posts you bring onto a calendar, Spreadcast's server makes the post. The assistant reads your app's brand kit and designs the picture in your colors, fonts and logo, with real screenshots of your app in an iPhone frame, in 11 kinds of post, or a carousel of 3 to 8 slides at 1080 by 1350. It makes no AI photos and no video. It writes a caption for each network, checks the post against each network's rules and saves it as a draft.

It also knows what is worth posting. Spreadcast reads your App Store listing and finds moments: a new version with what changed, taken from your release notes, or a rating milestone worth a thank you. Two ready prompts start from there: Draft posts from my app's news, and Plan a week of posts. You are not inventing topics in the chat.

Drafts are the default by design. When you connect Claude or ChatGPT you sign in with Spreadcast, and the consent screen asks one question with two answers: Make Drafts or Make and Publish. With Make Drafts, the assistant can design, write and save but cannot schedule or publish, however the request is worded. Approving a draft is its own step. Claude Code and Cursor can use a key from Settings, AI Assistants instead, which is draft only unless you turn on Can Publish Posts.

Spreadcast publishes to Instagram, Facebook Pages, LinkedIn personal profiles, Threads, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky, Telegram channels, Discord channels and Mastodon, and reads back likes, comments and follower counts. On TikTok, posts stay private until TikTok audits the app. The Free plan includes the MCP server and saves drafts. Pro, at $29 a month, adds scheduling and publishing, with the design and the captions included in that price. Studio, at $79 a month, covers 5 apps, each with its own brand, and 3 seats. The full tool list is on our social media MCP server page, and the MCP overview gives the short version.

When the Metricool MCP Is the Better Pick

Metricool's server is a strong one, and for many people it is the right one. Pick it in these cases, or run both side by side.

  • Analytics and Reporting Are the Point

If most of your questions start with how did, Metricool's MCP is hard to beat. It reads metrics per network and format, keeps unlimited history on paid plans and finds your best hours from your own data.

  • You Watch Competitors Closely

Spreadcast has no competitor tools. Metricool lists and analyzes rival profiles on six networks, with 5 profiles on Free and up to 100 on Starter.

  • You Run Paid Ads

Metricool reads Meta Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads results in the same chat as your organic numbers. Spreadcast does not touch ads.

  • You Need X or Twitch

Metricool covers X on paid plans with its add on, and Twitch. Spreadcast does not post to X and does not cover Twitch.

  • You Manage Many Brands or Clients

Starter covers 5 or 10 brands and Advanced up to 50, with roles and an approval system for clients. For an agency with many non app clients, that model fits well.

  • Your App Is Only on Google Play

Spreadcast reads App Store listings. An app that is only on Android has no listing for it to watch, so a general tool like Metricool is the better choice today.

How to Run Metricool and Spreadcast Together, or Switch

You do not have to choose one. A common split for an app team is Metricool for numbers and competitors, and Spreadcast for making the app's posts. These steps cover both setups.

  1. Step 1

    Decide What Each Tool Owns

Let Spreadcast design and publish what comes from the app, such as versions, ratings and features, and keep Metricool for analytics, competitor checks and any posts that are not about the app. Glance at both calendars weekly so two posts do not land in the same hour.

  2. Step 2

    Add Your App to Spreadcast

Paste your App Store link on the start page. Spreadcast reads the public listing and needs no code and no developer account access. Then connect your social accounts.

  3. Step 3

Add Spreadcast Next to Metricool in Claude

In Claude, add a custom connector with the Spreadcast address from Settings, AI Assistants, sign in with Spreadcast and keep Make Drafts. On Claude Free you get one connector at a time, so running both in one chat needs a paid Claude plan.

  4. Step 4

Ask Each Tool for What It Does Best

In one chat, ask Metricool for last month's best performing format and best hours, then ask Spreadcast to draft posts from my app's news in that format. Approve the drafts in Spreadcast.

  5. Step 5

To Leave Metricool, Disconnect It in the Client

Remove the Metricool connector in Claude or ChatGPT, since Metricool's troubleshooting article says access is revoked in the client. Our guide to scheduling social media posts with Claude walks through a full Spreadcast session.

Other Social Media MCP Servers to Compare

Metricool and Spreadcast are two of about ten tools with a social media MCP server today. Buffer, Postiz and Hootsuite are among the others. Our roundup of the best social media MCP servers puts them side by side, with free plans, sign in methods and what each can and cannot do, and the Buffer MCP server guide goes as deep on Buffer as this page does on Metricool.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Metricool MCP free?

Yes. Metricool's limits article says the MCP works on any plan, Free included, with no separate fee. Free still limits you to 1 brand, 20 scheduled posts a month, 30 days of analytics and no LinkedIn or X. Starter starts at $20 a month billed yearly. Your Claude or ChatGPT plan is separate.

What is the Metricool MCP server address?

The address is ai.metricool.com/mcp, starting with https. You need it for Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Make, Zapier and the manual routes. In Claude and ChatGPT you can skip it and connect Metricool from their directories instead.

Does the Metricool MCP work with Claude?

Yes. Metricool is in Claude's connector directory: open Settings, Connectors, Browse connectors, search for Metricool and grant access. Claude Code adds it with one command and needs a Pro or Max plan. Claude Free allows one connector at a time.

Does Metricool work with ChatGPT?

Yes, as an app in ChatGPT on the web: search for Metricool, click Connect and sign in with Metricool. That app runs an earlier version of the MCP without direct post links. Adding the address as a custom server with write actions needs a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, per OpenAI's help article.

Can the Metricool MCP design images or carousels?

It can schedule a carousel when the images already exist, but no tool designs a picture, and Canva and Drive files are out of its reach. Spreadcast's MCP server designs posts and carousels in your app's brand with real screenshots, if you make an App Store app.

Can the Metricool MCP answer comments or messages?

No. Metricool lists inbox messages and post comments among the things the MCP cannot reach. The Metricool API on Advanced can export inbox comments for use in other tools.

What is the difference between the Metricool AI assistant and the Metricool MCP?

The AI assistant lives in Metricool's planner and writes post text on credits: 5 per brand a month on Free, 20 on Starter and 35 on Advanced. The MCP lets your own assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, read your Metricool data and schedule posts from its own chat.

What is a good Metricool MCP alternative for app makers?

Spreadcast. Its MCP server finds moments on your App Store listing, designs the post and carousel in your app's brand, writes a caption per network and saves drafts by default. Free saves drafts, and Pro at $29 a month adds scheduling and publishing with the design included.
